  1. Yeah, I think MoM member John used a newer light (same voltage etc.) But with newer terminals on the lights for his early W11 1978 Series 1 Westwood. I think I found them in Europe but being newer terminals I'm not so good with electricals so I opted for the original factory lights although had to come from America. If you're still unsure you could message John as he has replaced the lights I think
  2. Hey! Just reading a Westwood magazine lol. The lamps were sourced on eBay to the best of my memory as this was about three months ago that I ordered but didn't do work until recently. They came from America as I was unable to find any in the UK as with the pulleys. They were reasonable in price and if you want the lights for a Westwood, purchase the same lights as mine as those are the right ones for the Gazelle model. Hope this helps. Thanks.
  3. Thanks! It seems alot of work has payed off in the end but being a 40 year old machine there are times where there's an endless list of things to do on it. Lol
  4. Hi, thankyou, would love to see some pics and videos of your Westwood, great to have you back on here.

Pictures of my 1978 Series 2 Westwood W8E Gazelle if anyone's interested. Thanks for looking.
  6. Hi, ok will do. Will let you know the outcome when posting another video if it works. Much appreciated. Cheers.
  7. Yeah I noticed when revving the engine, it fluctuates sometimes before it gets into the higher revs. I was thinking about using some carb cleaner as well if that will help.
  8. Hi, cheers. Yeah it's now running great thanks to your help with getting the right pulleys. The 280-024 pulleys were the right fit with no altercation needed. It's looks in this video that I'm revving the engine but it's not as bad in real life as it sounds on the audio. Lol.
  9. Hi all, I’m back! I have my Westwood all up and running with new pulleys and drive belt. I would like to say thank you to HeadExam and everyone who helped me to try and find the right pulleys for my old Gazelle. I have recently started her up and put the cutter deck on to cut some grass as well as a nice ride around the garden. I’m glad she’s back up and running better than ever as there is no more loud noise from the old belt and pulleys. I have also made a video as requested from MyOldMachine user, WestwoodGazelle of the Gazelle starting up and running as well as general information about the mower. I have replaced the pulleys, drive belt, and the lights on the Gazelle after being out of action for a year, and currently changing the oil after a nice long run yesterday (video that has been posted below). Since I have owned the Gazelle I have replaced the air filter (Ernest Doe staff member laughed at the old air filter as it appeared to be an old sponge someone had cut to use, currently has proper Briggs air filter for correct engine), battery (had an old car battery fitted prior to purchasing and now currently correct battery stated in mower manual), replaced points and condenser (when first purchased had trouble starting engine and then after fifteen minutes of use engine would cut out, now starts fairly on the key with no cut out), added new seat (old seat was taped up and sticky/had perished, so painted metal seat to stop rust and put new seat on), repainted cutter deck/eradicated all rust (probably ruined the deck but have protected it from rust), numerous amounts of oil changes (first oil I bought the mower with was black and sludgy), and finally have purchased new pulleys and drive belt with new lights. So it should run ok, if not I don’t know what to do next haha. Hope you enjoy the videos (forgot to show video of lights working so have included another video) Much appreciated. Thanks for reading. Pictures below showcase the work I had carried out a week ago as well as a video of the Gazelle running.
  10. Wow, that's some Westwood collection frozen in time! All you need now is the Gazelle mower haha. If you're interested I have one perfect for restoring (not my W8E) lol. Thanks for sharing this. Getting some new pulleys for my W8E so will be posting that running soon hopefully.
  11. I think that the Westwood Gazelle was around from 1976 or before as I have recently bought most of the mower paper work from eBay including some of the purchase papers from Westwood which states that the mower was a 1976 Gazelle. Will be posting more pics in summer of all the updates if anyone is interested.
  12. Yes exactly. Cannot beat good old British engineering. Welcome to the forum! 👍
  13. Hi, those are my original headlights which I am looking for but I am having trouble finding that exact screw on type. Thanks.
  14. Hi, this is a picture of one of the lights. Hope this helps. Thanks.
  15. Hi, had a look at the headlights and noticed they have a plug type terminal compared to the old screw ons. What would I have to do to fit them? Thanks.
  16. Good to see the old girl, I just done some winter maintenance on mine which I may post later if you are interested. Just wondered where you got the headlight from as on mine I need two. I have found some new pulleys but as I am getting for Christmas, I am not allowed to know what site or anything about them until after 😂 Will tell you as soon as. Thanks.
