C-101plowerpower reacted to K-TRON in 60 year old Comet C-SAW still running strong
My Comet C-SAW has turned 60 years of age, and I thought that there would be no better present for it than to finally install the new diaphragm gasket I picked up from Wallfish a year and a half ago in Worcester. The old diaphragm was hard and brittle and simply beyond use. I was able to limp it along these last few months by removing it, soaking it in light machine oil, and reinstalling it wet. With the new diaphragm installed the little O&R started up and ran just perfectly. You can hear the little air vane governor working as it powers its way through some wood I had laying about.

C-101plowerpower reacted to HeadExam in Another Chainsaw Restoration
This is a XL-102 Automatic, its a 1970 saw weighing 11 pounds and has 57cc with auto oiler and manual over ride. These were only made in 1970 and 1971 I have one from both years. I couldn't get NOS decals so I had to do the best I could. Still need to install the carb and find a appropriate spot on the shelf. Last picture is what the saw looked like before

C-101plowerpower reacted to Anglo Traction in Fichtel & Sachs AG STAMO 202
I was relying on you Koen to have seen one.
Not sure how common they are, only seen one on Ebay.De in the last year. Very robust mower if well maintained. Impressed with the Wire pullstart cord, would outlast the engine.
When I look at the Drive unit on the Mower, it reminds me of the WW1 Mk1 Tank Tails used for steering.
I think they must have changed the colour scheme at some point, as this Sabo owned image is earlier than 1965 I believe-

C-101plowerpower reacted to HeadExam in Chainsaw Shelves Nearly Full
I have one on the bench in restoration process and another one possibly coming soon. Other than the Montgomery Wards 2.3 Featherweight (Remington Yardmaster) they are all the lowest productions Homelite models made between 1965 and 1980

C-101plowerpower got a reaction from Cub Cadet in dirttrack volkswagen mopar
this project came about after a few beers(best ideas come when drinking) we had a vw caddy that wouldnt run(ecu went swimming) and a dodge daytona with a broken steering rack and after some carefull guesstimating we started hacking the two apart to make one. its still a work in progress since we cant shift from the driving seat and we lost drive
thats the front end of a dodge daytona shelby z
and here's the caddy lowered on to it
and here's a little vid from the first propper test drive

C-101plowerpower got a reaction from Anglo Traction in Fichtel & Sachs AG STAMO 202
stamo stands for stand motor or stationär motor, meaning stationary engine. the stamo's arent too uncomon and parts are available
also i dont think its a 4stroke, think sachs only made twostrokes?

C-101plowerpower reacted to OldBuzzard in Sisis discs from the Showman
That looks to be in pretty good shape.
One thing I might point out is that they are setup up wrong.
Each gang needs to be rotated 180 Deg. for proper operation.
When setup correctly the concave side of the disc should be facing the direction of travel. That allows them to cut into the ground.
