Look like a fascinating place to visit when I am next back in Sussex. Was it a fighter or a bomber base during the war?

fighter base and then it was turned into barracks for the land army girls andrew

Thanks Nigel for the info. It' would make sense that it was a fighter base due to its location near to Lnodon and the Luftwaffe fighter bases in Northern France.

By the way your Landy conversion looks the DB!

Cheers

Just a note on the Corgi motorcycle. Made by Brockhouse at Southport, along with the BMB President and Indian Brave motorcycle. My father worked there during and after WW1. We lived about 100 yards away.
