Carb Filter

Recommended Posts

I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question, but when changing the filter, is there an easy way to separate the 2 metal pieces, or do you have to squeeze the new filter through the hole, and somehow open up the new filter after its pushed through the hole?  For now, I'm leaving it out and wait to hear the best way all of you changed it.  Taking the old out was easy, most of it was like a powder.

Not stupid AT ALL.

It squeezes through the hole since the halves do not separate.

I roll it up and push it in with a small piece of stiff bent wire. The wire is bent so it doesn't just poke through the foam. Once inside the filter use the other straight end to move it into position. Certainly easier said than done but it's not too difficult to get it in there. The first one is always the toughest.
