Hi All. Just joined up seeing if there are any other Lawnboy collectors in the UK

Recommended Posts

Hi

just joined up and though I'd say hi.

On the American forums as collect lawnboys and though I would see how many others over here in the UK have them.

have a few including a 1962 8220 automower, 1962 hobby Gardner, 1965 Loafer, 1967 21" deck with loafer mount, and various others from the 70's and 80's mainly.

Is there anyone else out there in the UK with them?

Nice one. Never seen one of rider mowers in the flesh before.

Have you got a deck for the loafer?

im hopefully having a box from the states arrive later this month with a 1970's lawnboy battery electric mower and a full tool set for the hobby Gardner. Planning to get another load together in the next few mounts with bits like a blade for the loafer if there are any parts you are needing.

No I haven't got a deck for the Loafer thats one bit I would like

I did bid on a Lawnboy rotavator on ebay a while back but got outbid

An electric Lawnboy mower would also be quite unusual as well !

If I think of any more bits I'll let you know, many thanks

In 1988, Lawn-Boy acquired Gilson Brothers Co., a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of very well built outdoor power equipment that had made equipment for Montgomery Wards for decades. Using Gilsons design they offered a 4 wheel front engine ride on mower as well as a rear engine ride on mower. Gilson/Lawn Boy also produced the same machines in blue and badged as a Ford LGT, LT, and RER mowers. The largest LGT18H Lawn-Boy came with a 18 hp twin engine and hydrostatic transmission and optional rear PTO, snowblower, rotavator, and 3 point lifts were available.

Had a tidy up at the unit today and got a couple of the mowers out...

Also picked another one up today, not with an offset front wheel so different to the rest of my small collection of green...
