Iseki KS280 rotovator and Noma snow blower
Alan and 3 others reacted to Aiberdonian for a post in a topic
Couple of other machines in the collection, the rotovator is semi retired since I turned the vegetable plot in to grass after a couple of years when nothing grew but it is handy for digging up rough patches of ground prior to leveling and the snow blower is waiting for a decent winter, It does have two tracks but I thought I would try it on a couple of old Howard wheels to see if it be easier to handle but there hasn't been enough snow to find out since I fitted them. Last photo shows it earning it's keep in 2010. -

If Norm isn't going to look after it properly Chris, you had better make a detour up north and bring it back. Sounds like Norm is like a lot of kids. Give them a new toy and the next thing you know, it's broken. Now where can I -

As requested, one or two photos of my Mitsubishi doing what it was bought for - taking fallen trees out of a 10 acre woodland at the back of the house. I initially bought a Ransomes MG 5 for the job but it couldn't cope with exposed tree roots and big stones sticking out of the ground used to knock the tracks off. It is amazing the size of trees it can deal with, and if it struggles you just cut another bit off the tree. The tarpaulin is covering one of three piles of logs waiting to be split and fed in to the pot bellied wood burner in the workshop. -

It's lucky the guarantee ran out as it hit the grass at Newby hall. -

Another one that would fit in to the ride on category. You'll see that my machines are in what you would call working condition. -

So that explains what the Turbair 21 is, if the seller had bothered to take a picture of the inside I would have probably bid too! Thanks for sharing it, I have quite a bit of Turbair stuff to scan & add to the forum when I have time. It appears to have an earlier O&R engine so that may date it to before the other Turbair crop sprayers, it also looks a bit like the mystery Italian crop sprayer in the unknown thread but it's not exactly the same. I'm slightly puzzled as to why the pictures I posted of it have shrunk though, they weren't very big to start with. David -

Below is a photo of the hinge mod. I think the reason the pins broke, was a combination of the rough ground on the Saturday night drive round at Newby. The cattle grid we had to cross to and from the horticultural section. And the gap twixt bonnet and grill. All the weight of the front of the bonnet being on the hinge pins. You can see in the photo two square blocks on the grill top outer corners. Those are rubber and now support the bonnet front. In hind sight, I could have just left the original, and better looking, hinges on and just replaced the pins. And before any critical comments, a bit of filler required yet to cover where the old hinges fitted. -

1 pointA quick 'trial fit' this evening....... I think they'll do??? (Ignore my sons choice of attire...... was just before I took him to football) Ordered these few bits, ammeter, switch and charge/warning lamp, all for under a tenner! Will be mounted in the flat panel.........

I remember Paul's little face when he had a ride a round at John's. Big grin like a little kid with a new toy. -
1 pointWas a little concerned about hot exhaust gases being directed onto the plastic of the voltage regulator..... So the simple fix was to drill 2 new holes in the exhaust flange and rotate it by about 20°........ My next task was to 'tinker' with the wiring part of this project....... I am pleased to say that it all works! I will probably change to a larger pulley on the engine to improve alternator speed slightly..... but it charges my car battery very well at 14.20 volts on a little more than tickover!😁😁😁 Whilst running the overall trolley is heavier engine end, leading it to bounce a little alternator end. A solution could be to add some weight? The idea I had was to make some handlebars from 3/4 steel tubing...... with a central support brace and a plate to mount a 'charge' light and switch...... Here is the bars cut, bent and ready for welding tomorrow.
