Awesome find! Yes they are rare in the UK and I can't believe this was in a scrap yard! good save. The tractor looks fairly complete which is good, much better than my RJ58 was when i got it. A good site for wheel horses and possible help with spares is wheelhorseforum.com With regards to a serial number, they were printed on a foil sticker on the top of the chassis rail, just behind the inside of the bonnet. At least thats where they are on an RJ, they were quite often lost unfortunately. Good luck!

Yes the original square hoods had a plastic bracket in the inside of the hood, then par36 lamps fastened into this. We removed the plastic and used the one bolt (note the plastic is fastened to the bonnet with a single central bolt) to secure a metal bracket that we had made to hold the LED lamps, square or round, makes little difference.

You did the right thing, keep looking. The rotavator looks a bit butchered and from what i can see the tines look very worn. I picked one up the other year for £150 although the idler and rear bracket wasn't included. The plow doesn't look like any of the wheel horse ones, it looks like they have used the rear hitch bracket as a plow bracket.

I didn't have the time to look at the engine too much when I was home but I think it is the original, I'm always sceptical when someone says the 'tractor was running 5 years ago', I always wonder if it was put away as something broke, I guess I will find out when I strip it down.

They made the executive model in 1963, 1964 and 1965 I think, each year there was quite a few changes to the styling. I am pretty sure it is a 1963 7E (executive 7hp) as there is a few things such as the aluminium steering wheel and the foot pedals that make me think it is the 63 model. Unfortunately someone cut off the piece of metal which went at the top of the hoodstand, this had the serial and the model number on it. Very frustrating! Also the engine serial number plate on these Masseys were positioned on the top engine cowl, this has also been removed at some point. So at the moment we are unaware if this is a 7 or 8hp engine. It looks identical to my cub 7hp engine apart from this one has a fuel pump, does anyone know if this was an option on a 7hp kohler? Is there any other markings that will help me deterring the HP without pulling the head? Thanks

hopefully not, going to need all the electrics looking at, the front axle is very worn, needs quite a few new oil seals, and i suspect new bearings in the dynastart

It was a company called Duracorp I think, they made a tractor called a moto mower and then they were rebadged for Massey Ferguson, I’ve been speaking to someone in the US and he said they rarely see them for sale over there. Very desirable although the moto mowers are more common.

Hopefully it’ll be there, for once I think I might try and keep one original although it has been painted over at some point, they did make a fairly good job of it. Going to need to be stripped, cleaned and rebuilt first, will be a winter project

Was lucky enough to find this gem the other day, picked it up today. Apparently only 750 made. It was made by Moto mower and Massey badged them. Here are some pics, please let me know if anyone knows anything about them.

Ahh yes, I didn't notice the drive shaft, definitely one on its own!

Look up KAB P2 seats on that auction site, lots of wheel horses used that model seat and we’ve always got them at a reasonable price.

Thats right! we made a finger bar from a barford fit. It was a good worker but my brother thought the money would be more useful to him.

Ours was the same, unfortunately i cant find a photo but the round ones were the same 4 1/2" diameter as the originals so fit perfectly and were extremely bright, the square ones will work awesome too!
