I have one of the later Echo engine versions with a 42" cut. Be interesting to see the O&R powering a blade that long

The vintage chainsaw guys in a US based group I am in always heat these old coils in an oven. 200F (90c) for 2 hours will very often bring the spark back. Take care that the wife does not return home during this period as a back hander with a frying pan is quite memorable 😃

Mine was definitely a replacement engine. The carb cleaned up ok but the fuel tap took forever to unblock. No manual sorry

I agree that something doesn't look right, but if this is a Magnetron then where is the other black wire going. Normally you just have one wire going to either throttle or brake so that it earth's & kills the spark when you shut the engine down. Additional wires usually mean you still have points, so does the other wire go under the flywheel. I have a Briggs engine with points & can take a photo of that set up if needed

    Hey
Picked this up the other day fairly local to me.
It's my second gazelle my other one has the rare rear exhaust.
I'm planning on resorting this one to original colours. Where can I get the original orange from?
Is the chassis just black or a grey colour?

    Thanks

As far as I know those type of coils are basically all the same. Either that or I've been very lucky just by using ignorance since I've used anything which would fit in the past and had success every time. Even using 4 stroke coils on 2 stroke engines and vise versa. I'm not sure which engines are plentiful over there but look for another make chainsaw coil or any other engine's coil which has relatively the same size coil. Remove it from that laminated piece if it's on one and install it on your laminated piece. As long as it fits under the flywheel and into the space it should be good. Location of the plug wire hole on the coil could be important depending on C51 saw space and how the plug wire is routed. If the square hole in the center is too large, shim it to fit tight. I have cut a layer or 2 off the laminate for fitting a smaller square hole on to one too.
If you have other engines around which would have an easier to acquire coil, check it out and try it in the C51 to see if you can use one.

At a price I couldn’t resist... we acquired this very tidy Westwood 16 hydro with sweeper.
Reckon it only has 50 hours on it.
No battery, fuel pipes persished, flat tyre, etc.

    watch this space....

So far so good! The wheels I bought were fitted with needle roller bearings which I removed as the wheels needed to be fixed to the axle which provides the drive. With a centre diameter of 30mm and an axle diameter of 22mm I had to obtain some tubing to act as a bush. The O/D was just the right size but I had to ream out the I/D to fit over the axle shaft. Holes were then drilled to accept the cotter pins to secure them to the axle. Tomorrow, I’m going to weld the wheels to the tubing and continue finishing the wheelbarrow attachment.

Fix’em all, I like the look of the barrow attachment on yours. Had a quiet day at work today so I decided to start fabricating one for my Gemini.

    Hi Fix'em all,
Nice machine there. I bought two belts, the first one from fleabay which, although the correct size, didn't allow the clutch to operate very well (F&F A540/A20). I then bought a belt from Simply Bearings in Leigh Lancashire which is a cotton dry cover Kevlar reinforced mower wrapped V-belt. Model number is DRYB-4L-K-220/XDV. The clutch now works perfectly and has made a real difference.

Barney Lee is on a charity walk round Britain's coast line.   You can read all about it on his website. https://barneylee.co.uk/

Tomorrow morning he starts out from Silloth on Solway and I'll be meeting him, somewhere between Cardurnock and Brough by Sands, on the Solway Coast. I'll then bring him home to spend the night with Carol and I. In the morning, I'll return him to where I picked him up and from there he will continue his walk.

I restored mine in 2018. Which drive belt did you use. I found the A20.5 is a perfect fit for the Gemini.

The A20 is perfect for the Briggs engine on the Flymo DM, but the Suffolk needs a slightly longer belt
