4x4forks reacted to Toma in Westwood W8 (1983) "Baby" - restoration
    Hi,
    First of all, welcome all
I live in Poland and rebuild the Westwood "baby" gazelle W8 - 1983. I need stickers. I wrote an e-mail from restorationdecals.co.uk,  but I don't have any feedback.
You don't know if the stickers are still available?

    Greetings
    Tomas

    Hi all
A  great day at the Workshop on Saturday morning resulted in this Tractor coming out to a great cheer , It has been quite an interesting Project to get running with a big learning curve for me on diesel engines and Clutches  ,
Some more work to do on the Tracks and wipe it down with a oily rag i think and finally enjoy having it  hope you like i ,I think its superb

So I picked this up at Malvern yesterday. I bought it as I have never seen another one, it is German and powered by a JLO Diesel engine which is 2 stroke. This is an interesting set up and looks to be original apart from the alternator. From what I understand it is a vineyard tractor and this would explain the very tight turning circle. Has hydraulics and also an extra valve at the back which I have never seen on another tractor to perhaps power something like a log splitter?
I have not been able to get it started yet, but looks promising as there is some smoke coming out of the exhaust, I think I need to investigate the glow plug. Any information would be appreciated on the tractor or the engine as I can find very limited information and mainly in German.

Ten minutes after mowing this afternoon, the C-125 spluttered to a stop and refused to restart. Pushed it back to the workshop and after getting my breath back, investigated. Plug sparking ok but dry. Was going to check the points but as I knelt to remove the cover, I noticed petrol leaking from the air filter.
Reached up and turned the ignition key. Engine turned over and petrol flowed out of the carb. Removed the float bowl which was clean inside. Rattled the float up and down, while turning the key and fuel came out. Then gently held the float up and fuel stopped flowing.
Put the bowl back and tried starting again. Engine fired up and no sign of fuel leaking out of carb. Finished 2hrs of mowing with out any more problems.
I  reckon a speck of dirt had been stopping the float needle valve from seating properly.

Done a bit of clearing up for a neighbour. Cut a some sieves down a couple of weeks ago, with the C-81 and finger bar. Today my neighbour and I gathered them up ready to burn.
Thought I'd give the Black Horse some exercise, as it hadn't been run for a couple of months at least. Was rather reluctant to start, but eventually we went next door with trailer in tow. In the field the Black Horse started acting up. Would run and idle fine, but if shut down would be hesitant to restart. Took it home and got the Sears/Roper for trailer duty.
Lost count of the trailer loads, but quite a few. Photo's of last load.

Today the first three of my tractors departed for pastures new, I have sold my set of 4 MG40 and my Whitlock loader. Three of them left today so now I have a big space in my garage !!!!
Quite a unique photo not seen a full set of MG 40 as a group before.

I agree. I am currently mole draining my paddock and was interested weather it would help any further and yes it did. just waiting for it to dry again so the top dose not smear and once complete i will drain the tyres and remove the wheel weights for another day.

To reach this point to where it makes a reasonable job it has probably been built and rebuilt a dozen times 👍

Good effort. You made a great job of those.
I just bought mine and painted them. Square shank bolts on order to fit neatly

    Re-fitted them today.

Gave them a little test pulling the saw bench to the workshop. Before, the wheels would just dig holes in the loose stones. With the weights fitted, pulled the SB up the slope from where it resides and into the yard with no wheel slip whatsoever.

Big job on! farmer Friend let us have a play to set up and test plough. Only another 30 acres to go! Oh and he has now told me that it has only been cultivated twice in 5 years as it is the heaviest wettest field on the farm.
