B 115 Gearbox

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone.

Got a problem with the gearbox on my B115.

It can be difficult to find the correct gear but once it's found it will stay in that gear.

Has anyone got an idea what's wrong and how to fix it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards  Colin.

Thanks for your replies.

It's a Peerless 822 transmission and it looks to me that the only way is to split the casing.

Is this a common problem or am I just unlucky?

Any ideas where I can get diagram of the 822 transmission?

Regards  Colin

Hi,

I forgot the B-115 is 5 speed. Doh! I was think of the 600 series in a B-111

Yes you have to split the two halves, they are usually filled with bentonite grease. All 5 speeds and reverse are in constant mesh with a sliding pin that is the selector. Over time they can wear badly and get bent/stepped which makes it hard to push through the gears.

You can get replacement ones though, so it is repairable!
