Just a thought. The carburetors look similar to those used on some of the old Tanaka, Echo/Kioritz, and Shindaiwa engines. Maybe there is a float that is similar in size.  For example, check out e-replacement parts or parts tree online and look up Echo PB-202. It has a similar float design and float bowl, maybe you’ll get lucky...

Here’s a vintage Kioritz float - are the measurements close? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-NOS-Genuine-Echo-Kioritz-Float-P-120-133-0111-0/292981446733?hash=item44370e184d:g:Z-oAAOSwYyVcdEeD

I had a few Tanaka P7 Air Cleaner Covers made. I have listed them in eBay. They came out very good. They can be gentle sanded if you want to make them show quality.  https://www.ebay.com/itm/164645598092?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Do you still have any of these?

:WMOM:

Nice find, they look a bit earlier than the P7 engine on the drill I have, unfortunately finding parts for these seems to be very difficult.

Also nice to see some original literature with it too, I don't suppose it has any parts info or exploded diagrams in it that could help others?

I’ve been watching that one as well and almost sent a message about the TAS motor but it’s priced so high I decided not to.  It’s a cool pump but not at that price.

I only sent a message to advise them it was not as described, they wouldn't want someone to claim for this when it arrives and is found not to be an O&R or Orline.  No interest in buying at that price even if it had international shipping, same goes for the actual O&R powered tools he has.

My damaged float and the carburetor pics are about 5 posts above. Thanks for the eBay link for a float. I purchased it but the seller couldn't give me accurate dimensions. Maybe I will get lucky --

this looks like a possibility too…

try also searching parts for an Echo PB-202. It used a carb that looks very similar and the float is still available from PartsTree and eReplacement parts. Might be worth a try…

I posted a while back that I had bought a job lot of Tas P7 engines, I have found some things different between the early type and the later type.

Early type : O.R type pull handle, roller guide for pull cord, starter cover screwed from the back, short intake manifold, serial numbers P7- 2xxxx

Later type : Tas T pull handle, T Through pull cord guide, starter cover screwed from front, long intake manifold better balance factor crank,

serial numbers I have P7- 4xxxx.

Here is a Tas P7 sheering machine. It’s missing the sheers and flexable cable, I believe they were standard to most machines.

I am still looking for a gearbox for a P7, and am happy to trade a good engine for one. Either a single reduction type P73 or a double reduction P74 is good thanks regards Tom

That Crutching unit is a nice find! I’ve never heard of such a thing. Thank you for posting all the manuals and parts info as well, this early TAS stuff is hard to find!

Brandan It appears that your engine is a general purpose TAS motor with no gear reduction/transmission.. I see that on of the stickers on the cover says P-7 and the other says P-72. It also looks as if this engine rotates in the opposite direction of (2) TAS P-7's I have. I do not know if this motor could be used for a minibike. I state that because I use TAS P-7's for minibikes. Maybe you have seen pictures of my P-7 up in this string of posts. Are you interested in selling this motor and parts ?

Brandon, the Tas P72 engine can be operated in different orientations, it is different to the other P7 engines in as far as it uses a diaphragm  carb, some contraptions like the P7 generator also have engine speed governing with that carb too.

from my owners handbook there appears to be 4 main versions of those engines that were sold.

P7 = utility engine with regular carby.

P72= utility engine with all position carby. Can also be fitted with a governor.

P73=Utility engine with regular carby and single reduction gearbox.

P74= utility engine with regular carby and double reduction gearbox. Like used on the little Petro.

It looks a nice clean engine you have there, nice pickup.
