Thanks i will investigate. I wasn't sure if it had points but having had a closer look there are a couple of wires emerging under the flywheel

Hello, New to the forum. I have just acquired a Conyers 1.25 kw generator powered by a 3.5 Briggs & Stratton which has been unused for several years . I cannot get a spark from it. Have done the usual and cleaned the rotor/ magnet, checked the gap & tried a new plug. Voltmeter shows about 1 or 2 volts from the ht lead when i pull the starter. Thinking coil gone? Any help appreciated, thanks
