Hello,
Some 40 years ago I built a motorized skateboard using a 1 HP O&R motor. It was operating very well for a while but it was more and more harder to start, so finally I gave up and put it in a box. This summer I decided to try to get it operational again. I have found out that there was a leakage in the crank house somewhere. I think and hope I have found the problem. There was two small missing O-rings (item 49). I managed to get hold of them here locally but then a new problem have occurred, which puzzles me a lot. The Breaker Push Rod is about 2 mm too short (item 50) to reach and activate the Breaker. Before I took the engine apart it was running. Does anyone know the length of this rod?
Other questions I have in my mind are.
-
Where can you purchase seal kit, bearings?

Where can you get hold of screws to this engine? It is hard to find them here, since we mainly use metric ones.
When I originally built this "vehicle" I mounted the gasoline tank under the board between the wheel couples, however I had to move the tank above the carburettor to make it work. I am not sure if this is a must. Does anyone know if the gasoline level has to be above the carburettor? What height difference is possible? Is over pressure from the muffler or crank house into the tank a solution?
I would appreciate any input on this.
All the best from
Mikael
