Bsa 420 power unit. New member.

Hi, I have just acquired a Bsa 420 power unit, my first stationary engine.  I'm starting go through it and see what I have got.  It's not got a fuel tank (minor problem until it comes to prettying it up) so will rig something temporary up. It has a zenith carb and I cannot see any model number.

It has a Lucas sr1 magneto, I've tried turning the engine over with the pull start and ht lead against the head and no spark so will have to look into that. If anyone can identify the carb I would be grateful, from what I've read it should be a solex carb so I'm confused.. .more pics to follow.

Hello and welcome! Ex - military unit judging by the colour?

 

The carb could be a variant of the Zenith 24T I think.
