Hi Wristpin.....many many thanks for your help. Its is very much appreciated. I checked the coil gap, as you suggested in the process above. the gap was slightly "out" . So thank you . The mower runs really well but is a bit of pig to start and sometimes, just doesn't start. I think I will need to look at the carb. I think there is a "servicing kit" available from B&S (including a diaphragm) This will be a first for me. (love a challenge) There is no primer on this old carb. Thanks Anglo Traction, that is so very kind. It was a great help and I have found the right manual, which is brilliant. I have ordered 2 new springs. Thanks again. I thought I would have a look at the magneto. Which leads me to my next question, maybe someone could help. this is a pic of the current magneto. It looks like, to me that it maybe an electronic ignition. How can I tell if that is correct. Many thanks in advance. Have great weekend.

HI everyone, I have inherited an old HAYTER similar to the original poster. I think it's a HAYTER 21 Brush cutter . Its a 5HP I/C. (please chip in if I am incorrect) The Briggs engine numbers are 132922 0170 01 87120707 As you can see its in great condition. Very little rust. It does start. But the START/ RPM Throttle lever is not set up correctly. (especially at the carb end) The carb spring linkage needs setting up. Ive never done this but I am up for the challenge. I have 2 pics below of the carb. There are 2 springs. Is there a 3rd spring missing? If so..... The 2nd pic has an arrow in red where, I think there should be a link and the green dotted line is where I think there should be a spring. Am I correct or way off? Is there a need for a 3rd spring.
