Putting Engine Together - 1947 Ransomes MG2

Hello there,

 

Recently purchased a Ransomes MG2 as a project. It came with a Honda G300 on it, and I soon got that running and took it for a test drive.

It also came with the original engine which is in bits. It looks like most of everything is there (except air filter steup?), and I think I have a good idea of how it all goes back together, but need a little help.

I don't know why it was pulled to bits, but I am keen to get it back on the machine.

One question is what do folks do about gaskets?

Any tips and tricks would be appreciated.
