  1. Hi Neil, yes it is, and no Im afraid this one wont be back in the dirt........ Although everything works, its cost me a small fortune to restore and I wouldn't want to risk doing any damage.
  2. Then it was time to put it all back together. Then add the finishing touches from Titch.....
  3. The finish on this restoration is a mixture of 2 pack paint and powder coating. Here are the parts will their fresh clothes on.
  4. The rotavator had quite a few problems, wear and rust being the main culprits. The gearbox was completely worn out, needing replacement gears and bearings. The rust bunnies had eaten some of the frame, cylinder head and rotor covers.
  5. I thought some of you would like to see my earlier restoration of the big orange beast, my Series 1 Rotary Hoe. I know some of you have seen it before so I wont bore you with the full story, but I will just highlight the starting point and what I ended up with.
  6. Hi Steve, I'm still in 2 minds about Ardingley? I understand there may be a charge for camping???
  7. Thanks for the comments guys. Will keep updating this as it progresses.
  8. Also had a very kind fellow invite me over to his workshop to make these new front rollers. Made from seasoned English Oak, once turned I inserted the brass and soaked them over night in a 50/50 mix of Linseed Oil and Turpentine.
  9. Finished the painting today and started to reassemble the mower, This is where I'm up to at the moment......
  10. Here's the finished modified grass box, hope it works as it should!
  11. Then I discovered the earlier mentioned problem, the wrong grass box! S1G kindly sent me some pictures of how the box should fit, and so I set about modifying mine.
  12. Then the Atco green was applied, here's the tank and a few other bits all painted.
  13. The fuel tank was stripped, filler applied where needed and the grass box had a make over. The rest of the metal work was shot blasted and coated with an epoxy powder, ready for painting.
  14. After many hours and a few £££s spent, the Engine is finished, New bearings were sourced for the entire mower, a couple of spares were donated to the cause and some other parts were repaired, overhauled or completely remade.
  15. It had quite a few things wrong with it. The carb slider was completely seized, the wrong grass box and some one had been at it with the spanners.
  16. Well, this is what I'm currently working on. (Its also on the other site) Here's what it looked like when I picked it up.
