  1. You're doing a great job, but can you say how you cleaned off the parts, especially the cylinder head in preparation for painting.

  3. Yes thankyou Meadowfield.
  4. Can anyone help with a diagram of the lift linkage, i.e. into which holes in the Lift Arm and Bell End the Lift Arm should fit and does anyone know a supplier for the bushes which fit into the chassis at the ends of moving spindles. I tried to upload some pictures, but the upload failed and I will have to try and find out why.
  5. Thankyou Richard and Meadowfield - another hurdle overcome!
  6. Hello again Richard, Having removed the front wheel bearings and given them an initial soak in petrol I found that I either had 2 sealed bearings and 2 unsealed bearings (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS) or that the seals had disappeared from the 2 ‘unsealed’ bearings and I hope I have not damaged the sealed bearings by the petrol immersion. 3 of the bearings turn smoothly and quietly whereas the fourth turns not so smoothly with a slight grinding noise and I assume this bearing needs replacement. The ‘sealed’ bearings are marked as made in the USA and I assume that I will not be able to re-pack them. Yours advice would again be most appreciated. Kind regards Ray
  7. Hello again Richard, Thank you for your reply and offer of help - I always seem to in your debt, because you are so knowledgeable and helpful. I have a C 160 Automatic (with a 36" rear discharge mowing deck) which I am slowly rebuilding (hopefully correctly!). My Tractor has the 'C' clip retainers on the front axles and if you are able to spare some shims I would be most grateful and happy to reimburse you.
  8. Does anyone know where to buy .050" thick and .015" thin shim washers to fit the front wheel 3/4" axles on Wheelhorse tractors? There are many suppliers, but they all have minimum quantities of 100!
  9. The illustration in the Parts Manual is far from clear and I am struggling to see which way round the cam plate should be, which screw holes to use to fix it and the small spring and whether either or both of the 'spacers' (shown on the attached photo) belong. Any help would be most appreciated

    Hayter Hayterette

Hi and thanks for your response. How much do you want for the handle? Ray

    Hayter Hayterette

Thanks for your help Richard. The handle is broken where the tube has been flattened and pressed into a semi circle to fit around the bottom round tube and probably could be welded (although I have no knowledge of welding!!). This will be the only option if I can't locate a replacement.

    Hayter Hayterette

Hi Richard, Thanks for your reply. I have found a picture of a similar machine to mine and crudely added this above. The bottoms of the tubular handle have been compressed to semi-circular (to fit the bottom tubular handle) and have a threaded bar to go through the bottom handle and be tightened with a plastic knurled 'nut'

Iv 'e broken the top half of the handle to my Hayterette rough grass mower and wondered if anyone might have a replacement top handle,. Thanks.
  14. I've finally made up my mind and bought an Abac 3HP (photo attached). The suspicions of one member were confirmed when I read on the internet that 80% of non-industrial compressors are made by one factory in China and merely painted and badged as required. I spoke to one 'well-known' company asking them about what I had read and they said that there was a load of nonsense on the internet and that I shouldn't believe it. I did not tell them that I had read this on their Company Website!!! P.S. I've now got to work out what filters/connections and airlines I need.
  15. Sorry for the delay in responding, but thank you all for your helpful advice. i will have to make my mind up as to what I intend to use it for and how often I am likely to use it. My current preference seems to be for an Abac 3HP Direct Driven with either a 25 or 50 litre tank. I had thought that I could use it for occassional spraying of small items in the future and these both appear to be up to the job, then I read that small airless sprayers could achieve the same results. Ranger, thanks also for the catalogue - I now know where to get Kohler rings etc.
  16. I would be most interested to hear what makes of compressor other members have purchased with which they are very happy and would recommend as there are inummerable makes and I am somewhat sceptical of the posted feedbacks. I am looking to buy a 50 litre 2.5 or 3 HP oil-fed model. Thanks.
  17. Hello Charelie, I am intertest in your tyes - how much do yoiu want for them. The rims do not look like Wheelhorse rims, but are they? Ray
  18. Thanks for all your responses I'll keep looking. Ray
  19. Wanted a sickle mower attachment for my Wheelhorse Tractor.
