We lost power last week for about 2 hours. I did fire up the generator which essentially powered the house. It is wired into the house (not back fed) but it isn't enough to run EVERYTHING, but we have heat, hot water, television (we have satellite) and lights. I have even turned a burner or 2 on the electric stove and the generator handled it with ease.
I bought it when Sandy was on its way, but we really didn't lose power during the storm.
Kids left a window open and one of the mattress's got SOAKED. It measures 30 x 74 and is 3 inches thick. The current mattress is a cheap piece of foam, looking for ideas!
Very nice write up. My little trailer has bearings which I should probably pack. My 5th wheel has ez-lube bearings with a zerk on the cap to plug in the grease gun and pump it up!
Shortly before Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast last year, I was able to get a 9Kw generator in the event of a power failure. It's a noisy little bugger so my intention is to build an enclosure for it. I purchased a large plastic shed which easily holds the generator (and a few gas cans) and I plan to equip it with vents with fans for cooling, insulation for sound reduction, and fitting for an external exhaust with automotive muffler and tall stack. I've seen these things on the internet so I know it will work
That's amazing! My wife has an uncle who uses match sticks, and made some beautiful artwork as well. Your creations are so detailed, I love the underside of the truck and the firewall details as well. These are really nice, thank you for sharing!
Honestly, I would be lost without my favorite all time tool, the simple surgical clamp. I have found more uses for this tool than any other tool that I own. It's good for just about everything.

My understanding is that it pumps it to the back first then forces the old grease out the front, so the back gets lubed. Doing mine next week.
