RESIDENT CANADA GOOSE NEST &EGG DEPREDATION If you have problem Geese in your area & want to do something about it. Here is the starting information, the legally correct way to do it. Please share this info, Face book, Twitter, All your contacts and friends, and Forums. People are getting sick form Goose droppings in grassy areas. When lawn mowers throw it up in the air the operator breaths this dust in. If you are a Golf player you know the deal. In some areas there are so many Geese, they cause traffic problems. This web site works for most any state. It covers the lower 48 States and the District of Columbia. And please don’t feed the wild life. Go to: WWW.dgif.virgina.gov Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. Click on: Wildlife Information Click on: Nuisance & Problem Wildlife Click on: Canada Geese Click on: registration process Click on: New User Create Login ID. Password Complete the registration process. There are several ways to destroy the eggs. A personal recommendation is to affix a small, thin nail to a broom handle and simply approach the nest and poke one small hole in each egg. And allow them to sit for full term, other wise they will rebuild. I do not recommend completely destroying the nest because the goose pair will only rebuild, possibly in another area where you are not authorized to destroy eggs. Please take time to read through the information on the website, get informed and keep it legal and humane. You must register each year prior to destroying nests/eggs. You may register anytime between January 1 and June 30 of the year in which your activity will take place.

www.americasheartland.org Here is a interesting web site. Here you will find: 9 Seasons / 9 Years of Americas Heartland shows. Each Season has 20 or more Episodes. Each Episode in broken up into 5 or more short Videos that are 4 - 5 minute in length. There are hours and hours of farm related stories to watch. Its very interesting and informative. The stories come from all walks of life, and all corners of the country. There’s something here for all ages. You can watch for free on your I-phone, tablet, or lab top. I do the lab top and stream it to my Flat screen TV. On a rain day, or snowy cold day, its something different and new. At any rate tune in and enjoy Americas Heartland. And please don’t forget to share this info. Jeff

19 Foot Long Pole Saw. Made it myself long pole saw for about $20. First you need to get lucky and find the right Saw blade. I happened to get real lucky and asked the right young lady @ Lowes for help. I got the last out of package reduced pull type limb saw that Lowes had for $ 3.90. Plus small bolts and wing nuts for $ 4. And the In expensive conduit for just a couple more bucks. One 10 footer ¾ inch & One 10 footer 1 inch in diameter. Total length is 19 feet it is a bit cumbersome to use, and just a bit heavy. Operator need to be patient and work slow. Its important the blade is a pull type blade. This means the blade only cuts the material when it is pulled towards you. Cutting on the push does not work well at 19 feet. Also use a wax type lubricant on the blade. This helps a great deal to make the job easier. Mount the blade @ that typical slight angle. I used a piece of broken sledge hammer handle inside the pipe to mount the blade. I turned it down on a lathe to fit, then cut the slot with a saws all. Two bolts with jam nuts to hold the blade tight. Ten cuts later, its all still tight so I think it turn out all right and cut’s fast to. Two bolts with wing nuts hold the two pipes together. I over lapped them about 1 foot. I can reach up over 20 feet and cut. When I store it I have the pole slid together. One Bolt and wing nut hold to two together the other bolt is just in the handle end so I know were it is. If or when I need it only half way extended I will drill those holes then.

No milling or drilling on Carb body, not a perfect fit but works.

Garage door opener chains put to good use. Deflate tire cut to length to fit tight and re-inflate. It really works. Its like running on rails, quiet and smooth. Works best in packet snow and helps on / or in icy conditions. Jeff
