Charlie Smith 192 #1 Posted October 1, 2014 Hello all, As some of you are aware I have just picked up a 1973 lawn ranger, 80% of the tractor is either some sort of fibreglass material, or plastic of some sorts... I know how I can prep the metal and other bits, I just wasn't too sure on what's the best way to prep the fibreglass? Is there a paint stripper that will work, but won't damage the fibreglass, I was thinking to my self it's maybe not best to use sand paper as you may mark the fibreglass? Any suggestions, Thanks
nigel 1,877 #2 Posted October 1, 2014 Don't use stripper. Charlie it does funny things to glass and plastic I would rub it back with 200grade dry paper then finish with 400 grade wet and dry, that. Way it will be smooth but will leave a key for your paint
meadowfield 1,900 #3 Posted October 1, 2014 Charlie, just a light sand to key it. That's what we did
