factory 487 #1 Posted November 28, 2014 I recently aquired this cutter, I'm not sure of its exact use as most the decals on the covers haven't survived. It was made by Kemm Co. (Bristol) Ltd The company was registered on the 13th June 1967, so I guess it was probably made sometime after that, the company no longer exists. It seems Kemm modified the engines to use a rope starter pulley and got rid of the spring, this is the only company I know of that did this. Warning decal on fuel tank cover. I had a look in the cover under the engine, the cutter is direct drive. David
Wallfish 698 #2 Posted November 28, 2014 VERY NICE find! It's a Rough Grass Cutter I had one of these shipped over the pond and thought I'd might never see another. I also started to try and remake the labels for when ever I get around to painting it. Here are some that were made using Microsoft paint program so the edges are not as crisp as I'd like but should work if you want to get someone to make them for you. Ian 2,417 #3 Posted November 29, 2014 That's an interesting machine David, thanks for posting about it... I'm guessing from the lack of wheels you have to lift/drag it to cut the brush?

I only knew it was made by Kemm as I saved the pictures of yours when it sold last year. I didn't think I would see another either! Thanks for posting those recreated decals, I will have to try making some decals for the coupling covers when it gets restored next year. Here is the other intact decal on my grass cutter. That's an interesting machine David, thanks for posting about it... I'm guessing from the lack of wheels you have to lift/drag it to cut the brush? I guess you would use it the same way as a modern strimmer/brush cutter, although its probably a lot heavier. David
Wallfish 698 #5 Posted November 30, 2014 OOPs, looks like I need to change that one from "Push to Stop" to "Press to Stop" I guess you swing these back and forth but they are kind of short, I'm only 5' 7" and it seems a little short for me so anyone over 6 ft would have a sore back after using it.
