Twinsport 29 #51 Posted August 5, 2016 Chaps! Most toilet cleaning fluids here in Denmark contains acid. Some also contain bleach. The acids used are either phosphoric acid, citric acid or hydrochloric acid. I avoid the two latter acids (and bleach). While phosphoric acid is as effective as the other acids, it is far less aggressive to aluminium. I Never use caustic soda. I find it far to aggressive. Both to aluminium and to my skin.. /Steen 1 Triumph66 reacted to this
HeadExam 1,783 #52 Posted August 5, 2016 I use TSP or tri-sodium phosphate, it seems to be about right for soft metals including cleaning wood for refinishing, I think that is what Twinsport is speaking of. I get it in small paper milk cartons in powder form. BTW they sell a 30L ultrasonic cleaner that is 22x13x12 (LxWxH) that may do most engine blocks 1 Triumph66 reacted to this
