woz 44 #1 Posted April 16, 2016 hi, iv bought a wheel horse b111 from a friend who bought it to restore and hasnt had the time to sort it.....after a bit of messing about iv got the old girl running and cutting grass BUT there is no 1st gear and reverse works when it feels like it and never when you really need it....iv taken the gear stick out and looked for excessive wear on the gear stick and it looks ok??? the gearbox is a 6 speed..has anyone a spare i can buy or even a complete tractor? many thanks warwick 1 Triumph66 reacted to this Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
meadowfield 1,900 #2 Posted April 16, 2016 Hiya, sound like a foote 6 speed box. They were fine when new, but not that reliable with age. spares are non existent, so a transplant is the easiest fix! Most peerless boxes fit with little modification. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
woz 44 #3 Posted April 17, 2016 hi, i went down country last night and bought another b111, funnily enough with the same gearbox troubles as my other wh...so iv had the day messing about and its now a five speed with sequential gears, iv used the hi/low position to make a gear shifter so when i get round to rebuiding the original i havent ruined the tin work...
