Potash123 26 #1 Posted October 15, 2016 Some of you may remember that I have fitted a sprint 375 engine to a newly restored Hayterette. I want to use manual throttle in lieu of the automatic rev sysytem. If I fit the throttle cable will I have to disconnect the small springs connected to the fan paddle. ?? Please excuse my terminology for some parts. Regards Potash.
Wristpin 400 #3 Posted October 15, 2016 As Nigel says, but what has been holding the throttle open against the governor's (automatic rev system) desire to close it? Was it a new engine that came with a fixed link to hold the throttle open? I fitted a good few Sprints to Hayterettes over the years and cant recollect encountering any difficulty. An image of your engine with the air filter removed will facilitate a more meaningful answer.
Potash123 26 #4 Posted November 5, 2016 I am going to try and run it on automatic throttle and see how it cuts, any advice on this would be welcome as i have just bought two more of these great little mowers. Thanks for replies.
