Rayp 46 #1 Posted August 5, 2017 Prompted by Richard's excellent posting I thought I would post the work on my deck. After sandblasting/wire-brushing and welding repairs the top was zinc-primed. The underside was Metal-prepped then treated with two coats of POR. I was unable to source small quantities of stainless steel flange bolts so purchased the nearest metric equivalent. This meant the spacers required drilling-out, but when I tried the first one shattered. A friend then kindly made me some metric replacement spacers. All the remaining bolts were replaced with stainless steel and a new Bar Idler Bushing Spacer fitted. I'm afraid I'll never achieve Richard's high standard, but I'm confident that the Deck will not corrode before me. 2 Anglo Traction and Stormin reacted to this Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Anglo Traction 1,016 #2 Posted August 5, 2017 Very good job done Ray. 1978 (85-36MR01) Deck/Spindles and you appear to have 1979 Belt Covers that were fitted to 95-36XR00. The Spindles/Bearings are much easier and cheaper to replace than the old ones I have. I see you finished it off with a nice pair of new Gauge Wheels. My Tractor (and I assume the deck) were made in Belgium and were 0wned from new by a family in Nottingham, from whom I acquired them. You also are right about the wheels. Stormin 4,458 #4 Posted August 6, 2017 I've noticed on both yours and Richards decks, they have the curved sections underneath. My rear discharge doesn't have those and I don't think it ever had.
