callander ploo-man 88 #1 Posted September 9, 2018 This is my next project anybody know what kind of mower this is and what type of engine is fitted 1 Anglo Traction reacted to this
Wristpin 400 #2 Posted September 9, 2018 It's an Atco with an Aspera engine. The machine was available in both 18 and 21" widths of cut . Yours looks to be 18" . I have illustrated parts lists and owners' manuals. Check for fuel leaks around where the tank brackets are spot welded to the tank. They tended to develop vibration related stress cracks around the spot welds. Easy cure was to seam braze right round the bracket.
Fix'em all 49 #3 Posted September 9, 2018 I think I am right in saying it is an Atco W8 & the Aspera engine is a LAV35. If you need Aspera parts you may be best searching for Tecumseh.
Wristpin 400 #4 Posted September 9, 2018 Quote If you need Aspera parts you may be best searching for Tecumseh. Although the Italian made Aspera was made under licence from Tecumseh there were differences so due intelligence is required when cross referencing!

Does that mean there will be both metric and imperial fixings as well?. I haven't done a LAV example.
