Does anyone know of an alternative paint stripper, the modern stuff seems to be incapable of stripping paint at all, I allways used to use mangers, however even this has now been changed.
Did you get around to finishing restoring your twin Gareth? ran into problem with rebuilding my twin engine. The oversize pistons were catching in the hole into the main block.....back to engineering shop for third time to mill out enough clearance.
it is finished, just need to dig it out from a very full building to photograph.
A fascinating book that's well worth getting hold of is mechanical aids to the small holding by Desaules. Lots of period pictures of our machines, from memory it was published in 1955.
Got to admit that I've never been a fan of aspera engines due to having a lot of problems with with them in my younger days, however this looks something a bit different, which is what this hobby is all about, I will be following your progress with interest.
Cheers Pat, Will pay attention to that area when having a look! Unfortunately santa didnt bring me Brian's book, nor did it arrive for my birthday..... Guess I will just have to treat myself!I know Gareth..... Im receiving therapy for this addiction :-)
as you have probably guessed I gave up trying to fight It a long, long time ago!
Thanks Kev, had a look at the info..... Seems an interesting piece of machinery. Was told this one has been owned since new, maintained accordingly and comes with manual, history etc. I will definately arrange to go have a look. Last time I just looked, it came home with me!!!!Cheers Paul, am going to look at this one. Could be the next project?
I said it wouldn't be long till you gave in to temptation...
I've just ordered my tickets this morning, I won't be able to show this year so am just going as a spectator. Think ill have to hide from the auction this time as I only wandered round for a quick look at the last show and ended up having to go back home to get the cabstar and it was full!
