    Bolens 800

Nice Cant wait to see it. You'll need a bigger garage soon.
  2. Thanks Ian, but the walbro has a slightly larger bowl and a tiny lip on the top as the rubber seal is different. Doug, a pm is on its way to you
  3. Yes a lot of water! im lucky really it didn't go in the engine, which looks dry and rust free inside the inlet and exhaust chambers. I will stick it in something to soak tomorrow, but think the bowl is definitely shot. It came from a friend who's had it a while, not been on ebay. Doug, thank you, could you have a look and see if your carb is a Walbro please, it will be written on the outside. If it is and has a good bowl i'll buy it from you just for that and hopefully build one good one out the two It's a shame really as theres no play in the main throttle shaft
  4. Well some of you know i've managed to get a Magnum 16 engine for my WH Electro 12 to create an Electro 16 Had the engine for a while but been putting off fitting it due to needing to use the tractor. Although, more and more problems seem to be appearing the closer i get to fitting it Firstly i found the crank on these newer engines are 1/8" smaller so my pulley wouldnt fit. So found an adapter to remedy this Then today i had a few hours spare and set about tidying things up, removing the threaded exhaust system (what a pain the rear end that was!) in favour of a bolt on flange type, setting valve clearances and ignition module gap ect. Made a new sump gasket and cleaned the sump out. Decided the carb will probably need a clean, and found this : One of the jet screws is seized solid and the rust in the bowl is very bad. Not happy as this was meant to be a good complete engine practically ready to fit Question is, do i put this on hold till i can justify buying a new carb at £135, or try and find a new Walbro bowl and hope i can free up the rest and get a rebuild kit? Who knows but ive given up for today. Im just glad i didnt rush in and dismantle my tractor before checking this engine was good to use first
  5. It say ride on mowers, not garden tractors, so as long as you dont have a cutting deck fitted then theres your loop hole Just attach the deck if you want to use it. And at the end of the day how on earth will anyone know you have one to say 'you must have insurance on that' ?
  6. My Dad's had one identical to that for about 20 years Ian, damn good welder, but yes your right about the fan. The fix on the newer shape Sip welder at the top is definitely worth doing! Every time i tried to use it i had to mess around for ages tweaking the wire tension, made up one of your adapters and it welded beautiful! Better than it ever had before!
  7. Ive just had a look on ebay at the van. Shame they lifted it on the forklift as thats probably done quite a lot of damage! Had a split screen 4 door saloon once with the trafficators, all they did was make the following traffic crease up in fits of laughter
  8. Sounds like your getting addicted to garden tractors Andrew You'll be increasing your collection before you know it I do know of a Wheel Horse c-141 project, local that may be up for sale soon Make sure you keep the Morris though!
  9. I like them Ian Custom dual wheel adapter/weights, theres just so many things to make for my tractor you are a bad influence
  10. Nice one Andrew Didnt take you long Look forward to the photos.
  11. Thanks guys, it does look to be a very nice machine. Shows up how tired and worn out the old 12hp engine is in my electro 12. Oh no, two is most definitely enough
  12. NICE!!! Im loving this Hotrod wheelhorse build. I cant see the videos being very long at all when its finished, just a cloud of dust, nice noise and 'there he was gone!'
  13. Hi All, Almost exactly a year ago i got my first garden tractor, a Wheel Horse Electro 12, fantastic machine! Everyone said they multiply and i'll get another, but I was adamant one was enough and why would i get another? Well its happened, ive bought a 1992 Wheel Horse 312-8. There was a real need for it though Ive lots of mud to shift and my brother is keen to help. Been stood in a barn for four years, half a days work cleaning out the carb and fuel lines, and doing some wiring work and the Magnum 12 purred sweetly Made a front weight quickly. And the following day went straight to work I'm very chuffed with my new toy. cheers, Daniel
  14. Thanks for sharing Ian. May have to make one of those for mine, although it is only a back up welder and has been used so little from new its on the original coil of wire with most of it left. What have you replaced your welder with? My main welder is a big Migatronic.
  15. Hi All, Finished my job early so put the afteernoon to good use. We got the Rotovator out and got the veg patch ready. Self driven and has a 6.5hp Chonda engine. And whilst my wife was wizzing round with that i fitted the cutting deck on my wheel Horse and cut the grass. Although I was a bit lazy and left the AG's and tri-ribs on
  16. Cool! another one. Question is do you drive it when the grandchildren are not looking Like Stormin said, 'Toylander'
  17. Thanks Guys. I made it from plans in a book with all the sizes ready to transfer on to the plywood. Its a half scale. Ian, funny you should mention the V8, I bought the 4 cylinder months ago when it was on special offer thinking it may squeeze under the bonnet, now i realise i could easily fit the V8 model in there, next time mate
  18. Hi All, Not had much time for my other toys recently, not even tested the Wheel Horse charging system i was planning to do just after Christmas! Ive been busy building this: Toy Land Rover series 2 Ive spent most of the day driving round the garden in this awesome weather. Got to test these things you know Top speed of 6 miles per hour, which is actually ample in something like this round the garden It is a large garden Powered by this yeah right working model Haynes engine just for fun and show. Folding windscreen. Working front and rear lights and indicators. Plus a drop down tailgate. Speed controller from crawl to 6 mph, with high and low range. Its a squeeze for an adult, but easily takes 2 children up front. cheers, Daniel
  19. THought id post a link to my home made wheel weights video aswell just for a good laugh
  20. Thanks Ian And thanks for fixing my link Not sure what i did wrong with it for it not to show like it does now?
  21. For those that havent seen this on red square, a funny video i made whilst building a snow plow for my wheel horse, just a good laugh really
