  1. Nathan I have an old original dumper exhaust which has been blown by a backfire you are welcome to it if you want to either repair it or copy for a new one. Alternatively you can buy a new one from Steenet and Son , Ipswich who still have some old stock.
  2. Does anyone have a spare Amal carburettor 356 as fitted to the above? Also looking for a Ransomes MG40 fitted with the Sachs diesel engine. Please call on 016974 78292
  3. Easy way to fit a hydraulic pump is to buy a clutch cover from Neil Jarret that has a vee belt pulley fitted, you can then mount a pump in the engine bay driven by the belt. The dumpers and tractors are identical only the seat is mounted on the oil tank for the dumpers and the steering brake levers reversed. As the MG6 has three forward and the same three reverse gears it makes no difference which way round they drive. It is feasible to set the truck up so that you can swap seating ends according to what you are wanting to do.
  4. Just acquired a couple of ancient Ransomes Mowers from the late b1930's both are fitted with the TB type engine fitted to the MG2 crawlers. One is a 30" cut which I am using to cut the grass and keep fit ( you have to run behind it ) the other is a 36" monster. I have been searching for a roller seat which is why I bought the 36" only to discover that my neighbour had one buried in the undergrowth of his garden not 20ft away from my house!
  5. Wait until you see the latest model. Just been fitting up the petrol engine with a dynastart unit working on to the flywheel looks good and even seems to work !
  6. Hi Stormin I have indeed signed up. My collection started as a result of trying to find an MG6 I used to own about 30 years ago, I was hard up and had to sell it, it went to a guy in Brampton Cumbria that had just built a bungalow with a very large garden. Posted an ad in the local paper which produced a response from three MG owners. One of them had a crawler in use as a flower pot! The one I sold had a full set of implements including a rotovator and a gang mower and had extra wide tracks as I used it on the peat bogs. I now have a collection of 15 including a very rare Whitlock loader of which only three are known. My aim is to collect one of each model produced between 1934 and 1963 including the various engine options and the implements to go with them. I am always on the look out for these machines if anyone knows of one on wheels I would love to hear. PS never did find my old MG6, but bought the three from the paper!
  7. Hi Norman and Nathan I have two dumpers one complete and operational and another which I am restoring. Having a clear out of machines i have duplicates of so if anyone wants an MG5 or MG2 let me know I have three to go. I also have some spares for the dumper.I guess you will know of the two sources of new spares for all crawlers Nathan but if not give me a shout. My current searches are for an MG40 with Sachs Diesel engine and the wheeled version of the MG6 known as an ITW. Both my dumpers originated from Headingley water works in Yorkshire, I suspect that yours Nathan may have been a working Partner as I know they were sold off as a job lot some years ago, one went to a light railway for ballast transport. I have recently bought a 30" and a 36" pair of Ransomes lawnmowers powered by a version of the MG2 engine I have the 30" running and am now in training to be able to run fast enough to use it.
