  6. Joe, Ransomes listed the MG2 at a Nett weight of 10 1/2 cwt. Neil
  7. Joe, The thread on the drive wheel spindles is 5/16" BSF The thread on the load roller spindles is 3/8" BSF You will need the special tool to remove and then split the flywheel and clutch. I loan the tool FOC but require a deposit to ensure return of the tool which I will refund less the cost of post. Neil
  8. I have access to one of these and they are brilliant. Apart from the cost there are some other restrictions in that you require a variety of induction loops depending on the diameter or surface being heated and access. This of course increases the cost as if you have the tool it would be most frustrating if you did not have the correct adaptor to allow it to be used. Currently not a DIY tool due to cost. Neil
  9. Joe, The floor should be made from pine with some metal reinforcements. If you send me an email I will reply with copies of the drawings for the various parts. Neil
  10. I am no expert on these engines but in the past have found several common faults. I presume it is 2 stroke. The fuel pick up pipe in the tank often has a small filter on it which may have gummed up. The fuel pick up pipe in the tank may have softened and collapsed. The the pipe into the tank may have a pin hole and is not pressurising the fuel to encourage the feed. Neil
  11. I have been offered some MG crawlers in various states of dis-assembly. There is a MG6 with Drayton Diesel and hydraulics but no track and some odd bits missing. MG5 with no engine but there may be a stripped engine available. MG2 with no engine but as with the MG5 there may be a stripped engine available. There is also some plough and implement parts. No hydraulic linkage. I know the seller well so offered to pass details on of interested parties. These are a long way from being running machines. If you are interested please contact me directly and I will provide his contact details. Neil Jarrett

  13. It depends on the version of the engine. If there is no vaporiser it is designed to work on petrol. If it has a vaporising box it will run on both petrol or TVO but may not like straight petrol due to lower compression ratio and fuel getting to hot. If there is a cox atomiser still fitted to the vaporiser and you only want to run on petrol it may be best to remove it. Neil
  14. Jonathan, So I can get to see the show this year I will only be going on the Sunday as a visitor. As usual if anybody wants me to take any parts please let me know and I will take them with me. Neil
  15. Although I will be attending the Newbury show I do not intend having the same stand as I had at Malvern. If any owners wish to collect parts at Newbury please let me know to ensure I take them with me. Neil
  16. Is the track jammed even when in neutral? If it is the chances are something has lodged in the gears in the side reduction box. If it is free in neutral but jammed when in gear it is probably a failure with the internal diff gears.
  17. Jonathan, Not that I was planning to go but will be on our way to Mexico for our 25th Anniversary so not available anyway. Neil
  18. Thank you for interest but this has now sold. Neil
  19. I recently purchased a quantity of new spares and as part of the arrangement had to take the tractor. This is a very good MG6 serial number 12304 circa 1957 which does not appear to have seen much work. Fitted with a Ransomes 600cc petrol engine and standard 3 speed gearbox with the optional PTO and Hydraulic rear lift. The lift cylinder is the large version and all works well. The Amal 356/1 carburettor has been serviced and the magneto overhauled. Compression was low so valves have been lapped in and bore is on standard size. Engine starts and runs very sweet. Tracks are exceptional as are the drive wheels and weight carrying rollers. Ideal as a working machine or for ploughing matches. Looking for £1500
  20. Jonathan, Seen these working and the design is only a modern twist on the original Ransomes but with latest technologies in engines, hydraulic drives and rubber tracks. Neil
  21. Yes I am sure I can help with these parts. Neil
