Back when I was a kid, we had "Moped's" which were supposed to be motorized bicycles.  They did have pedals but the manual pedal was geared so high that it would take you 200 revolutions to move a meter!  Well maybe not that many

At that time, there were inexpensive motor ad-on's for regular bicycles which resembled your picture.

i've seen people doing it, i just modified an old suffolk engine to be cooled like one of those stationairy engines, i'll try when i get home.

well, i had this suzuki ts50x moped thingy that i wanted to restore a bit and go moto crossing with, but lack of funds and time made me sell it

this is how i bought it

this was after it caught on fire

after some priming

the cylinders, top one is original bottom one went on

after some colour

the piston after it ate some rings

and the chainsaw carb that i was trying to fit

and with a sawblade sprocket

the damn thing ate flywheel keys, would run good for 10 minutes before i had to put in another key

that's why i sold it
