slf-uk 914 #26 Posted April 28, 2015 The shaft with the clutch attached is attached to a shaft coming out of the axle. The shaft coming out of the axle either has a spine or a flat, depending on the axle type. It is not easy so see but I would suggest the next step is to see if that is also turning. If you are lucky the problem could be the joint between the two. Hope this helps Iain 1 Triumph66 reacted to this

simon5 3 #28 Posted April 28, 2015 Thanks for the reply the shaft coming out of the axle isn't rotating. Do I need to take the whole gearbox off of the tube frame or can you access it through the top by just taking the covers off ?
slf-uk 914 #29 Posted April 29, 2015 It is very easy to access by doing as you suggest and take the covers off. Seat pan first then the cover. You will have a gasket between the cover and the box which can usually be reused if you take care removing the cover. Iain
