Stormin 4,458 #1 Posted June 17, 2016 The core plug at the back of the head on my Td5 Disco, decided to give up the ghost. Simple job to remove and replace. Oh no.it's not. Let's fit the engine that close to the bulkhead you can just squeeze your hand in. Eight hours work to replace a £2 item. Design engineers at Land Rover should be chemically castrated to stop them breeding. 1 DevonianRedneck reacted to this
Wristpin 400 #2 Posted June 18, 2016 Same issue with the six cylinder petrol lump in an ex army O type Bedford in the 1960s - that's progress!
moogie 372 #3 Posted June 20, 2016 You should try a Jeep Cherokee, it has a core plug behind the flywheel, so it is either engine out or gearbox and transfer box out ! The core plug rots every few years as its in contact with an aluminium plate. Its not only Land Rover that comes up with great designs. 2 Stormin and meadowfield reacted to this
meadowfield 1,900 #4 Posted June 20, 2016 R380 on the defender, fill plug is T55 and level with the chassis, either remove the insides and floor or feed a hose pipe under and over the chassis rails. Messy job, but still love it
