I have one on the bench in restoration process and another one possibly coming soon. Other than the Montgomery Wards 2.3 Featherweight (Remington Yardmaster) they are all the lowest productions Homelite models made between 1965 and 1980
I might send a few pics of our vintage chainsaw collection, your mind will be blown.....
we have 3 huge dan arm chainsaws, the ones that require 2 people, a twin cylinder echo evl. And others might send you a few pics sometime
As well as needing a bonnet, fender pan, carb, seat, starter motor, I found out that the main body tub was so rotten (most of it just pulled apart sort of rotten) that the poor C went from project to breaker for parts with the funds going towards the latest project..
Sorry guy's, sometime you can't keep em all..
Oh, if anyone needs any "C" parts that are not engine, trans or bodywork let me know
I also tried another "mower breaker" friend and the answer was the same. I checked on the Barrus/Lawnflite parts site and it does appear that the pulley in question was only ever used on the various versions of the rear-engined riders and not any of the front engines tractor mowers. Also, it looks like the last machine that used it was back in 1997 so they are likely to be thin on the ground. Pretty amazing that Barrus still have a new one in stock.
Good luck with the repair - not a nice job as unless it's spot on the machine will vibrate badly. It may be worth looking for a more modestly priced generic single pulley and get it welded to your boss.

We could have one of those in our lawnmower scrapyard, ring 02897510804 and ask about the part your looking, and they’ll see what they can do
I had already considered using a press for the headlights likewise for the grills. However I am unaware what a bead roller is, I’ll have a look after this post. Although I am not sure if i would be able to get acces to these pieces of equipment. My school dose have a press and my teacher may let me use it!
Thanks for the ideas, I’m defenatly going to look closer into getting the false Louvres.
Checked the flow this morning, pulled the fuel pipe off the carb and the fuel came running into the filter and out.
Was going to blow down it but didnt want the taste of petrol before work lol....
Yea I think I will remove the filter and run without one until I get it running then fit the red briggs and stratton filter
Thanks
I believe it’s going to be the jets, like Nigel said. Take it apart and clean them, so you can see daylight through them. My John Deere 68 has one of these engines, I like them. The main jet is the one in neck, that you will have to remove the carb and then the carb bowl, float etc, don’t lost the needle or seat. It’s a bronze jet, and can strip quite easily, be careful.
The manual lists both but says to use the resistor type due to some states having different laws (guessing this is just aimed at the US market)
Would there be any difference in fitting the resistor type over the non resistor as that seems more readily available in the stores
Currently the previous owner had a NGK BPMR6A fitted but the manual says to use a Champion J19LM or a NGK B2LM
Its for a Lawnflite 504 ride on with a 8hp briggs and stratton engine
Thanks
Get the nam, resistor ones are the ones with th ‘r’ in the name, they probably help somehow. I’d say stay away from champion, not taht goodin my experience
I have wanted one of these tractors ever since I saw a picture of one online, so finally I have one
I managed to find a person who imported tractors for a living, about a year ago I asked him if he could find me a panzer. A couple of months ago he did and a deal was done, it took five weeks to cross the Atlantic Ocean from the tractor originally being sold in Illinois.
On Saturday me and Dad drove up to shropshire to collect it from his Farm. I must say I am very pleased with it. Here are some pictures.
As you can see it has had some painted applied in an odd fashion, and I knew the original paint was underneath. So a few hours of light sanding etc I managed to get the end result with a light coat of oil to make it shine.
Can you do me the contact details off the man who imports them, may be useful for me in the future...

Guys, on eBay is a vintage ford garden tractor. I know these are rare. It’s in reading and asking 100 pounds. It has transmission problems but uses the same as some Westwood’s. Sam
Hi guys, have this and another few real old cylinder mowers, granda gave me a container with that and lots of vintage chainsaws etc. I’m looking the thing that the starter handle hooks onto, don’t know what it’s called. The starting handle hooks onto it lot start. Many thanks sam
