A truly magnificent piece of British motorcycle engineering.
As a kid I would often be taken to the local gravel pit with my dad & ride all over the huge mountains of excavated gravel .
We used to ride. Grandfathers old BSA bantem , I'm not too sure which model it was but I do know it had a single rigid seat.
It was great fun but sadly my dad sold the bike way back in the late 60,s .
I wished we still had that bike now .
I often take a look at some of the wonderful old brochures that were made for motorcycles back then .

Southall , hmm thats a scary place , I nearly ran out of fuel once and had to drive through Southall and thought to myself I really don't want to run completely out of fuel here .
Fortunately I made it to slough ,which was almost as bad

Wow, 9 inches long, that's a big tool for 2 inch nuts

Hmmm , I have over 15 garden tractors , to insure all of them would cost me nearly a thousand pounds each year.
-
Now that is nice, have you ever used it in anger ?
-
Lovely bit of machinery Nate , the last time I used one of those drills was when I was at school 38 years ago .
I must confess that I have been looking for one of these for my workshop that I am currently building.

Beautiful traction Engine Nigel , maybe one day I will get to own one of these , in my dreams .

That's funny you say that Richard but I had a delivery last week from My Hermes & the parcel arrived all smashed up . Refer to the (welding cast iron thread ). I was gutted as I really liked the belt driven Planer that I bought . I just wished they would treat peoples goods with care.
-
great pics , i wonder who the owner of the little WH suburban is ?
-
When you purchase items off of Ebay or other sources , do you employ your own courier to collect goods?
Many People that use Ebay often don't want to get involved with hiring couriers , they would rather the buyer organise this .
I was wondering if you used a particular courier to collect you busy .& what company do you recommend.?
I have had Engines collected by a company called. JaysTransport from Highbridge Somerset

Does anyone here know how to weld cast iron ?
How hard is it to do ?
I bought a belt driven planer which was a lovely bit on machinery , then the postal company decided to throw it around and break the cast iron parts
This is what it was like before Hermes got hold of it .
And after the damage.
