This post inspired me to take my camera to work with me today. Here is the C121 hauling a load of logs I'd just cut and the Raider rotovating a second pass on some pathways that needed reseeding:

I have had a quote to make up an original pattern Kohler exhaust but in stainless, but, the price dropped considerably (as you'd expect) when having a batch made up. I sadly don't have a wealth of cash to spend but wondered if anybody else has had a batch made and if any might be available? I'd also be interested in any new old stock that may be around for 10 & 12 BHP (the same size if I remember correctly).

Here is a picture of the two together, the Raider is nearest. I had seen the model list on your fine site but found the Raider again is noted as a B series????

I have visited your site, I just tried to enter some information to the register you have set up but was given this message "The result storage capacity has been reached for this form. Many thanks to the Showman. It seems my Raider 10 is from 1977 but strangely listed as a B series and my C121 is two years younger.

I think that is where I tried originally to no avail. perhaps somebody has put together something since? Fingers crossed. I didn't realise it was a sister site!

I have asked this a few times in years passed and not got very far, I wonder if any dating system has since been unearthed for the Belgium built machines? If anybody has a way of putting a date to my Horses I would be very pleased and grateful.

So, I've noticed the forum has a Stationary engine section, although it's for Petrol engines I guess I can post about my Diesels? Not so long ago I restored a Lister CS12/2 that my Dad had started before he left this world, I thought I should finish what he had started a decade or more before. Sadly as he had left it in a stripped down state and partially exposed to the elements it involved a very thorough every part to pieces restoration. Over 18 months I restored the engine plus and alternator for it to drive, the set up is in memory of Dad who loved engines and was extremely knowledgable on electrics. I designed and fabricated a semi portable base for it all to sit on and it has now attended several rallies and been the power source at a few family parties. Here she is as Dad left her: Here are some of the components nearing the end of the restoration, I recall this was just after I reassembled the injector pumps : Out at her first rally at Newby hall where she ran 16 hours solid on he first proper run, I think we ran somewhere around 32 hours in total at that rally: And a quick video somebody took at Newby, she normally has 2000 Watts of lighting running plus a kettle or chip pan as well as all the mobile phones people bring to me to charge!:

I'm glad they didn't, I personally prefer the original finish, you only get it once!

The grass I cut is often 12" and is quite a thick sward. I may get cussed for horse cruelty now but, one more than one occasion I've had dried grass catch fire in the cooling fins nearest the exhaust port but for this job is the reason "the Mongrel" was born. I wouldn't be as harsh on any of the other tractors and as those two tractors were destined for the scrap boat to China I don't feel too badly about the abuse. Oh, and the reason I don't use a larger machine for this job is the limited access.

Many of you will have read my thread about the Raider I had stolen, I'm very pleased to say that yesterday she was returned to the site she disappeared from. Just last week I decided I would have to replace her as I do rely on her for many jobs through the year, not least to save me many hours mowing my allotment and other peoples grass. I ended up being offered a C121 at a price I could afford and made the decision to spend the money I had put aside for the reward I was offering on my missing tractor. Here is the Raider happily returned home alongside her new stable mate. I first became fond of Wheel horses in 1995 when I took a pocket money job at a small country estate, there there was a C141 that the boss had purchased in 1978, the year of my birth. This in fact was the first vehicle I had driven and I soon learned to reverse a trailer with it too. I'm now in charge of estate maintenance at that estate and I still run the C141 pretty much every day, whatever is required of it it manages, from raking driveways to scarifying to aerating lawns to hauling mowers around the grounds on a trailer to hauling many tonnes of wood from the woodland to the yard. She is very well worked and the engine shows wear in the bore and notably where the governor spindle exits the crankcase, you can wobble this about like a knitting needle in a bucket! Over the years it has been suggested several times that she be replaced but I won't have it and if she ever has failed myself or my Dad (sadly no longer with us) will spend a little time in the shed rectifying the problem and off she goes to work again. A few years back after realising our modern Kubota didn't like cutting the long grass areas I used two scrap tractors I sourced to build one good one and this is now used solely for long grass cutting and sports a sixteen horse engine. Here are my two flanked by the ever trusty C141 and the 16BHP mongrel. The wood you see behind them plus many hundreds more tonnes have all been hauled here from the woodland by the little C141

A massive thank you to everybody that paid attention to my posts about the theft of our little tractor and kept eyes open for her. After over three months the tractor is now back at home and we have two happy children and a very smiley me. I had a phone call from the Police today to say my horse had been returned to the house she was last spotted at. Strangely it was found by the same man that had last been seen moving it onto the driveway! He "apparently" found it dumped in a place I had searched previously, a local park. Anyhow I'm just overjoyed to have her home and I wish to express my thanks for all the kind words and thoughts that have been sent my way.

I have now managed to save for a cash reward to anybody that can provide information that leads to the safe return of our beloved tractor, my Mum and Sister have also told me they will add to this reward. Please if you can help, do.

Thanks everyone for the comments and giving this attention, especially to Headexam for sharing it here before I was able too (I wasn't a member). Sadly the 'oss is still missing despite my searching and asking, the children have even turned into superheroes of late and been using their powers in the search! I have become quite obsessed with this and even taken holiday from work to try and track her down but at present seem to have hit a wall, I'm very disappointed with the Police for leaving her there where she was first dumped, besides anything else it was a school route and if any of the children had started her it could have ended in a very messy way. Please keep vigilant, I can name several distinguishing marks besides the obvious.
