  1. What kind of tractor is in the 4th and 5th pic?  looks like an allgaier or porsche tractor  Koen

I can give you an answer Koen.     It is a 'Crawley' Tractor.

Built in the late '50's by a Company based originally in/near the Town of Crawley (4 miles away from me).

So you don't know just how close you were to thinking it looked similar to those you mentioned  .

Also that it was designed by a fellow countryman of yours !!.   Here's a link to give you more detail:-   http://tractors.wikia.com/wiki/Crawley_Metal_Products_Ltd

    Regards.

  2. Doesn't matter if you have used it....I'm sure it still look's good and works hard and strong. Given it a new lease of use for a looooong time.

If you mow on Sundays, then it's in it's Sunday Best......as well as every other day  .

    ...........................5.9   5.9   5.9   5.9   5.9   5.9    .... if it was in the Tractor Olympics    :USA:

  3. I've seen the Yorkshire Area (Malham) in February with snow around.

The bit I like is the little Orange High Vis Jackets they put on the  new-born Lambs and there is the frozen water fall at Gordale Scar.

Lucky man, we have Concrete, Black top and Mud.

  4. Yeah, You have to use it like Matt does Karl !. Think of us poor unfortunates over here that don't know what Free Open Spaces are and would probably get arrested anyway for driving an illegal Vehicle in a Public space, or while Trespassing.

  5. Oh Thanks Jeff,

Apart from it being a 'Pond' and not personally seen one in 'Resto Mode' , I love those Sickle Bar Walk Behinds.

UK has equivalent Models of similar age, but I'll leave that for any owners here to expand on.

I must get one for a Resto sometime. Thanks for posting.

  6. Original but cleaned up. I prefer to keep them original if possible but I do have some that need to be restored. Here is that Comet chainsaw all done with a rebuilt engine.

Look's Very tidy and well cared for John. What sort of age are we talking here, as I can't see a Chain Brake and is the Chain Oil feed manual or Auto pumped?.  Only ask, as I hope to bring a '71-ish Poulan Model 25 back to life and that is devoid of a Brake or Auto pump. Thanks

  7. Thought I'd start this Topic, as I wonder just how many of us have the old, maybe inherited Tool that you know is old and has been used regularly for as long as you can remember. It would be interesting to see them.

This is not my oldest one, but I've managed to find out a lot of info that confirms it's age, as well as adding to the Archived information. Considering it is a simple common type Tool, I'm surprised there is so much info.

I give you  the humble--     Adjustable Bicycle Wrench (Spanner) Made in U.S.A, as so many of my old tools were.

I've established it can only have been produced before 1911, as the Patent Records confirm it and the Company changed the Maker/Identifier Stamp in 1910, and the Model E only shows the later version Stamps in the records.

Mine shows Model E, but has the older Stamp indentifiers, so the Model E was made before 1911.

Here's a research site I used trhat verifies it -

Yes , it's in a sad state and a bit worn, but still works.   So what do you have in the old Tool Box?.
