Stormin 4,458 #1 Posted August 5, 2014 Went over to the widows across the green today, to cut her large expanse of grass as her Snapper ride on is in dock. Just got nicely going, when the cutter deck lost drive. The bearing in the v pulley has disintegrated. Luckily I had the one that came with the C-81 on the shelf, so I continued with that. Cheap, rubbish idea for the pulley in my estimation. Bearing integral with the pulley. Could be a mod coming up.
Anglo Traction 1,016 #2 Posted August 5, 2014 Did a search for those Bearings a while back and they appear to be only available in the U.S. and lots of dosh to get 'em over to here. Only nearest size I could find in UK was narrower and so presume weaker?. Thought the same as you about modifying to take larger diameter and double row when necessary. Stormin 4,458 #3 Posted August 5, 2014 I'm thinking, machine out the centre and weld in a sleeve to take a slightly wider bearing, held with circlips.
meadowfield 1,900 #4 Posted August 5, 2014 You can split them by drilling out the welds. It's just getting the right bearing from then on...
