simar kid 22 #33 Posted January 31, 2014 We could sleep in it John, not at Newark though its too damn cold !!! Hairy pooch not forgotten as regards accomodation... TTTTTTell me about itttttt. I still have a cold and that's 2 months back. will have it insulated for next year with 50mm of cavity wall insulation. called CELOTEX OR EQUIVILANT
neil 524 #34 Posted January 31, 2014 Line the wall with celotex & that will be nice n cozy to sllep in , cool in summer & warm in winter . Maybe put a little window in the side Then you have a micro caravan . I may even consider it myself
pmackellow 2,738 #35 Posted January 31, 2014 For most events we have the use of the inlaws motor caravan, I wouldn't put a window in the trailer for the same reason as it won't be decalled up, I don't want people to know whats in it...
pmackellow 2,738 #36 Posted February 1, 2014 Rubber matting now fitted to floor, expertly trimmed to fit by my dear wife... she's a good girl
Stormin 4,458 #37 Posted February 1, 2014 Looks good! Just a thought. Handy for washing out but beware of water getting underneath and rotting the floor.
pmackellow 2,738 #38 Posted February 1, 2014 Yes I will check that every so often, these mats (stable mats) are great but I know that they can hold water underneath, so it will be lifted regularly to check out the floor...
Stormin 4,458 #39 Posted February 1, 2014 The floor will most likely be treated already, but a good coat of floor paint wouldn't go a miss.
pmackellow 2,738 #40 Posted February 1, 2014 Yes it has been treated already so its not a mat on bare wood...
Stormin 4,458 #41 Posted February 1, 2014 What's it's load weight capacity BTW?
pmackellow 2,738 #42 Posted February 1, 2014 750kg Gross Trailer weight and the trailer empty weighs 250kg, so 500kg carrying capacity, that should be enough for what I want to carry in it
simar kid 22 #43 Posted February 1, 2014 I don't want to interfear with your trailer as you have probably thought it all out but the rear door is good but if it was hinged at the bottom you could use it as a loading ramp. very nice all the same. from jealous simar kid.
pmackellow 2,738 #44 Posted February 1, 2014 Had thought of that one John, the door did not look strong enought to take the weight of a tractor so I will use the ramps I already have and just have the door as side opening and not weight bearing !!
simar kid 22 #45 Posted February 1, 2014 I knew you had thought about it was not sure how you planed to load it but its as clear as cristal now. well done
pmackellow 2,738 #46 Posted February 1, 2014 Anyway no need to be jealous John theres nothing wrong with your covered trailer it does the job and I know you are rightly proud of how it all turned out I was thinking along the lines of a frame and cover on our Ifor Williams trailer until the box trailer popped up on that well known auction website...
