Charlie Smith 192 #1 Posted June 7, 2015 Well today I woke up and looked out the window, the weather was lovely and the sun was shining bright so I thought to my self, what to do today... I got the transport box out of the shed that I've just recently picked up, I've been told it's a Mayfield Tractor Transport Box. I started looking at it from all different and weird angles and sat and thought about it, then something popped into my head, I know its not done professionally nor is it an official cub cadet attachment, but it gave me something to do and in fact I'm really pleased with the outcome, I am hoping to sand it all down,.... might take a while, the weather has got to it pretty bad, but once its sanded down, I hope to paint the metal frame up in a nice gloss black, and then get some good quality grained wood and varnish that for the bottom, back and sides, I know normally these would have tin sides, but It will never be worked. I got a picture before I started and a fair few from when It's finished, but once I got stuck in I forgot to pick the camera up and take some photos of the process but here is some of it now lifting etc, hopefully within the week it may be all painted up. Yesterday just trying it out for looks! Refitting the lift arm. It's now lifting 3 Triumph66, Alan and Stormin reacted to this

Charlie Smith 192 #3 Posted June 9, 2015 Thanks Chris! So today I went about sanding it down and painting it. I was going to add a skim of filler all over it to get rid of the pitting! but I thought if I do that it may look like its made with new iron, I thought if I leave it a little pitted and give it a few coats of paint, its rough age will still be there, so anyway the frame is now all painted up with a few coats of gloss black, just waiting to put some good quality grained wood into it and varnish it up. 3 Triumph66, nigel and Alan reacted to this
