HeadExam 1,783 #1 Posted July 13, 2018 Everyone should be able to express an opinion or a a viewpoint without fear. So why would people physically attack others for expressing a different opinion or a viewpoint and then be called those fascists by the people attacking them? The News reported that a group of people that support President Trump were standing outside a pub in London when they were physically attacked by anti-Trump protesters. This has happened multiple times in America with the Antifa movement who call themselves anti-fascist, but use violence to attack peaceful demonstrators. What makes it even more intolerable is that the news media actually seems to encourage this behavior and rewards the parties that use violence against those that support the President of the United States (imagine if the media supported the KKK during Obamas's presidency). I get it, a lot of people don't agree with Trump, that's fantastic and we call that a free society, but when you use violence because you didn't win an election and your party is self destructing, that party and that ideology will become akin to the radical jihadist platform, i.e., the use of terror to achieve goals. Today we have people that are not emotionally mature and have resorted to violence and self help to get their way. In life we must always accept the fact that we don't always get our way and work together for a better tomorrow. I am trying to be fair and even handed in my assessment of this situation and I hope any responses are as well.
Triumph66 1,256 #2 Posted July 13, 2018 Alain, in my opinion I think it is wrong and disrespectful to have a Trump Blimp flying above London that been approved by the Mayor of London. I am not a fan of Trump but I accept that he been democratically elected by the American people and therefore that should be respected. Trump's policies, rightly or wrongly, struck a chord with the American electorate, and politicians/ people in your county and worldwide should try to understand that and find a compromise to satisfy both the Republicans and Democrats. 1 HeadExam reacted to this
Stormin 4,458 #3 Posted July 13, 2018 I've not seen or heard anything on our news about the incident you mention, Alain. Not saying it didn't happen though. As for the media encouraging things like that, of course they will. My personal opinion of the whole business is Trump should never have been invited. It would have saved the tax payers of this country one hell of a lot of money, that could have been put to far better use. 2 Triumph66 and HeadExam reacted to this
HeadExam 1,783 #4 Posted July 14, 2018 At least the BBC had the decency not to air the raucous affair of Brits beating Brits over the visit of an American, but it was well covered by our press here in the states. So much foreign policy is out on the internet these days and the online commenting, speculation and interpretation of government policies by 3rd rate internet trolls and social media experts is generally where the lazy media get their (inaccurate) information. There are some real questions going on with Brexit that don't concern the US per se and that should be determined by the Brits, obviously the timing (not a State visit though) was awkward to say the least. It would appear both Merkle and May both are going to have a tough road holding onto power and control of their governments for reasons not pertaining to President Trump. Another reason that this trip might have been better at another time. I understand we were in trade negotiation with the UK and the US had some concerns about the EU continuing commitment to Russian energy considering NATO spends a lot of money supposedly protecting Europe from Russia. The whole deal with Gerhardt Schroeder and a Russian energy company looks really horrible, as does the migrant issue with all EU nation, coupled with England's possible exit from the EU and other disagreements within the Union, it is quite the sticky wicket as you chaps say. 6 hours ago, Triumph66 said: Alain, in my opinion I think it is wrong and disrespectful to have a Trump Blimp flying above London that been approved by the Mayor of London. Yes, I would have been horrified had Americans floated a blimp of the Queen or other foreign leader. This is not how adults act and I think that is the real root of many problems today. At this point more and more people are leaning toward Trump in the upcoming elections, both by proxy in congress and in the next Presidential race. Those people are not bad or hateful people, they are just sick of corrupt and ineffective leaders 1 Triumph66 reacted to this
expeatfarmer 591 #5 Posted July 14, 2018 You said it ! There are very few people in " authority " for whom respect is appropriate virtually every aspect has been corrupted or abused in some way.

It would have saved the tax payers of this country one hell of a lot of money, that could have been put to far better use. Mayor Khan blames the Trump visit as costing British taxpayers millions and when Trump paints his leadership as ineffectice due to raising violent crime (many Brits say the same) Khan claims the police force is under funded, thus the rising crime statistics and Trumps visit takes money away from fighting crime. Where Kahn gets in trouble is that Trump spent very little time in London or utilizing London Police resources. The lions share of London police resources during Trumps visit seem to have went toward security on a anti-Trump rally that Khan helped organize. If anyone wants to take a stand against Trump that's fine, but if you do so on shaky ground he always seems to carry the day no matter what egregious comments he may make. I'm not supporting him, but this is an observation of almost every "scandalous" event that Trump has seemed to put himself in; nothing seems to stick to him because people attack the issues from a straw man perspective or a point of weakness and that almost never seems to work in their favor. As an observer I try to stay dispassionate about people and look at defining events and how they may relate to future events. I will say one thing, Trump, Merkel, May, and Putin are going to be in the news in a big way in the near future. I've got them on a chess board and it's looking more and more like momentous moves are close to changing the political landscape. nigel 1,876 #7 Posted July 15, 2018 Well I love Trump he promised lots of things when he campaigned and he has followed through with all of them, how many of our politicians have done that, they say he’s a misogynist but he wasn’t the one that stuffed a cigar up Monica’s minge in the White House they say he splits family’s up from their kids, really, ime sure that was started by Clinton and then carried on by obarma was it not , is he not right when he says nato is taking the piss, when you consider Germany buys all its power from Russia with billions but won’t pay their fair share into nato to protect them from the RUSSIANS, I could go on and on, but I will be shouted down as a far right racist but ime not, I was brought up with morals, there wasn’t transgender , gay meant having a good time, not having it up the bum, men were men who didn’t wear makeup or dresses , these masked antifa twats wouldn’t last five minutes in the army, the real hero’s are our vets on both sides of the pond , you tell me why these idiots can walk about in masks , if I walked into a bank with a crash helmet on ide be locked up 1 HeadExam reacted to this
HeadExam 1,783 #8 Posted July 16, 2018 The media doesn't cover the millions of Americans that supported and voted for Trump, but I will tell you I can go to any Mud Park anywhere in America and see young men and women rally 4 wheeler trucks/vehicles by the thousands and see every race, gender, nationality enjoying being free and having fun. You will see country music rappers, with Blacks, Hispanics, and Whites at these events all celebrating freedom. The news media paints anyone that supports America, Britain, or Europe as nationalist or racists because they want to live free are wrong about those people. I can tell you that almost every white man would support his favorite footballer for political office no matter what his nationality/race. You cant jail a guy for voicing his opinion and let others advocate violence and death and say that is equality or a free society. If you really want equality, it has to be equal for all. Alexis de Tocqueville was right about America, it took a while, but what we are witnessing is a disease of society by the lack of standards and expectations by people that never matured emotionally or psychologically. Some say the problems are created by liberalism, I think its actually socialism. The political right has as much to blame for this situation as the liberals or socialists, or else Trump would not have won the Republican nomination. 1 nigel reacted to this
