Cub Cadet got a reaction from Ian in Cub Cadet 70 restoration
A little bit more has been done over the past few weeks , mostly cleaning up various parts and painting, here are some photos.
The wheels and brake/ clutch pedal after sandblasting.
After a coat of etch primer
A previous owner of the tractor had stripped all of the threads off of the light switch and so the nut had to be cut off.
After cutting the nut off I discovered this.
Luckily we managed to save the light switch by cutting new threads

I got this last week. I bought it off the second owner from the restoration, it was restored in late 2013 to an extremely high standard, one of the best i have seen, all it needs is a choke cable fitting, i was given the before pictures as well. Here are a couple of pics

Cub Cadet reacted to meadowfield in Raider 16 4x4 articulated -aka project bendy
After a day of painting, cleaning and making fiddly linkages (not much room in there now) I now have working levers
Linkages have equal throw, that's why it looks a little complicated. One crank is 2x longer, but the spool linkage halves this to keep things balanced.
Dash decal done too.

As if by magic...
Apologies for he rubbish shot, number 2 son came in and stood in the light
It's been a cold day up north, minus 4 first thing and it just passed zero degrees by lunch. So lots of cups of coffee were in order and using the kitchen island to put most of the first loom together
And the first bit in place behind the tank and steering column.
Next job is to make the panel fit and add the fuses and light circuits.

Today's update, lots of stuff has arrived
Firstly switches, lights and connectors
Then a batch of stickers
Which meant I could finish these, shame I couldnt get the tacho in black bezel... Might have to spray it....
Might make a start on the dash panel tomorrow.

I've got a video, just need time to upload it (in between welding and being stopped by the dibble)
And good to see you and Sam too, thanks for the deck!

Maybe I haven't then, mine are bsp both ends

that was the original plan Doug, but there's just not enough room - I did the calculations. At 700psi (powersteering pump) it will lift 0.17 tons, and push down 0.24 tons.. With a decent geared pump (3000 psi) it will lift 0.74 tons and push down just over a ton.
I think 700 psi is a good start point, that would lift me at the end of the lift arms
I've got 4 10l -3/8 bspp fittings already, but they are the same at both end have you got some with metric thread on the other end?
used some more of those brackets today to make part of the front three point hitch, plus turned some 19mm bushes down.
cheers

Could be a plan...

I think this is the last update for Xmas, brackets and a pin made. Rear lift now finished but for pipes and paint

that's the plan, I've a lot to learn about hydraulic fittings though Bought four items today, only two fit - and only at one end
I'll get on with the other bits for a while...

I will weld it on - although there's more than enough weight and leverage to make it drop.
Note, up until the last 20 years most tractors only had lift only, the linkage just floated on the down.

I have a plan for it... but not sure how weatherproof it will be

Thanks guys, finished the upper dash panel too. It's a lot easier than painting and lettering
Plus I can change the words...

Latest sticker order arrived today, so the lower dash panel is complete.

The plastic panel is in good nick, but I don't want the lighter socket and I want the electric clutch to say spots!
So rather than try butcher a nice panel, I thought I'll add a sticker, will also match the lower dash panel.
Cheers

cold and snowy outside, so got on inside and made a custom dash decal. The existing dash panel is in pretty good condition, but needs painting and I'd prefer the electric clutch to be something else so here is a new panel.
