Hi Lads. as you probably noticed I have a Hayter 21 and a Hayter Osprey. The front wheels are a bit tired but not beyond a refurb. I have noticed Hayterette wheels for sale on ebay. 005 111-1479-1135, Question, will these fit the front wheel axles of my two rough cuts ? Thanks Colin

Thanks lads. since the posting I found Ernest Doe in Essex, they stock these parts. Just got my wheels back from blasting for my Osprey. they came up like new. Wife thinks I have too many projects on the go ( so what ). Regards Colin

Hi, Just collected a rust free Hayter 21 that had been standing some time and is all complete, even the blades are very sharp and the body skirts work . It is the red 5 BHP and a 206 Magnetron engine and a light green deck. The carb is attached directly to the fuel tank like its old baby brothers. After a bit of fettling I fired up the old girl. No issues there but I want to pull the carb to bits and give it a service, therefore I am looking for a carb service kit ? Can anyone supply a good UK contact for this beast. Definitely running out of room in my garage, but I can still get to the beer fridge.

What happened to this Osprey, just curious as I am renovating one at the moment, see my current thread ta' . Colin

I have been trying to sell a large signed Cantrell oil painting, it is a landscape and simply does not suit my modern house. Cannot get a sniff on ebay at the moment, is there anywhere else I can gather a buyer. I am in S/E Essex. Thanks

Thanks for that Supporter. The Osprey I mentioned that is for sale is on the net, see Mowmate of Basingstoke, £695 Seems to be a lot considering that the front bumper is missing ( if that is what it is called ). There are a few rough cut 21's about, are they any good. Do they have any generic problems. Regards Colin

The Francis Barnett is a restored 1959 Falcon 81 with the Villiers 197 cc engine. That will be going in the spring. No photos of the Osprey at the moment as it is in bits and the wheels have gone off to be blasted. Engine 870402. Thanks for replies. I found one second hand Osprey on the internet, it is in a mower shop for over £600 with a three months warranty. Seems to have had a new coat of paint. ?

Hi. I have worked on a few B & S engines with no spark. I have never had to replace a coil, the blame always seems to be the HT Cap which are about £5. I know this is an old thread but I have only just joined as I have just bought an Osprey Type 61 like the one here. Regards Colin

Hi. Newbie here; just joined the Forum. I have just bought a complete Osprey which I am restoring. I have restored English motorcycles and mowers since I retired just for fun. This Osprey is a going concern and is solid. This is the model with the front bumper and 7 BHP engine. The engine is now serviced and runs great the blades are now sharp and ready to cut. I will start on the paintwork when it is warm enough to use a spray gun. I cannot keep my projects due to a lack of room as there is a Lambretta and a Francis Barnett taking up room in the garage. I have another complete Osprey to collect in the spring, so this current one will go on the market. Due to the lack of information on the internet can someone date this well built machine and suggest a price for selling, I am not greedy ! Well done to the moderators on this site, great reading.
