He could of cleaned and painted the green gearstick as well, it looks a bit out of place on the bench
-
A great transformation.... So, what's your next project?
-
It's your for the right price mate
I do have something fitting planned for the pinky blue thing, but I need to get the 6x6 fixed first
-
Dig deeper and you never know what you will find
There's odd's n sods of metal that have been following me around for years!
-
You get to see the offending hammer, what more do you want?
-
Fantastic first post guy's, both offering help.. Thank you
Now don't be shy, make yourselves known, we would love to see your machines
-
It lives
Glad you got it working without having to cut the body about
Oh, I tweaked your post to show the video a bit better
-
Not much to report yet, so to give you a few photo's to look at until the axle arrives I went searching for some steel to use as part of the chassis..
Can you spot it?, Right at the back behind the trailer of mostly scrap metal.. The small box section frame from Garry's trike will be saved
Yep, buried in the nettle is the filming trailer I made quite a while back!
That's right, I'm cutting up the filming trailer.. It's just never been used since it was built, it's too hard getting enough people together at the same time..
And anyway, I need the steel and might have a good use for the wheel hubs
Now available in kit form

I think what I like about Arc welding is there is no messing about with bottles or having to take the side/top cover off to change a reel of welding wire..
When your Arc rod runs out it takes seconds to swap it
-
"And it's stopped rolling along"
-
I think I've just got so used to using an Arc that I struggle with a MIG.. Back in the day before an Arc welder came into my life I did all my welding with a Mig but was always worried about the strength of it! My welds were not pretty back in those days
-
I know mate, I did think about it, but somehow I can't get my head around using a MIG on structural stuff!
-
It would cost in fuel about about 10 times (maybe more) than I've paid for postage
Thanks James, I can't wait until it gets here (early next week) so I can make a proper start on "Why Not" rather than just keep balancing bit's in place and looking with a silly grin on my face
-
Have you been looking at a certain online auction place Mark?
-
UPDATE!!!! Quad rear end found, it even has a diff lock Just got to work out how to get it back from Scotland now
-
It was worth the pain mate
-
The trouble is finding one that's strong enough and within my price range!!
Toying with Chris's idea of using a car IRS setup, but that would limit me a bit and I'd not be able to change gear ratios should the urge take me..
Also thinking about making my own axle and maybe some ally wheel hubs!! We shall see..
-
If I saw a nurse with that in her hand, I'd be running
-
But the Wh was more entertaining to watch... And it didn't roll over
I've let the BLMRA know about the videos as they asked
-
Not much to report here, I got the outrigger fully welded and primed yesterday..
But when I went to weld in some inner axle mount strengthening..
I found my new pack of welding rods had suffered water damage!!
So no more welding until a fresh pack of welding rods turn up tomorrow
-
I bet your glad it wasn't a runner.. I'd be scared driving something with that axle bodge!
-
Do you still have this deck Charlie?
-
WOW!! That's the best bodge I've seen on an axle!! At least there might be a few spares inside the trans..
I have to wonder if they pulled the axle out and turned it on a lathe, or did they just put it in gear and hold a file against the axle!

Happy birthday mate, hope you have a good one planned
