Ahh, just like old times... It reminds me of Ardingly 2012
-
I can see a head, I'm guessing the rest of Norm is under it
-
Thanks guy's, yes it does have a 70's look to it The fantastic Wolfrace slot mags will be staying
The aim for the trike is to slowly remodel it to make it a lot more comfy and easy to get on and off of for Garry's wife Helen who has MS... Garry won't admit it, but really this is Helen's trike

That's a rather nice decal Mark

Garry turned up on this interesting machine yesterday for a bit of work... Well, a small start on a lot of work!
As you can see it need a few tweaks in the looks department, but it is a good starting base to build something more pleasing to the eye..
It is solidly built and won't fall apart, but I do have to question quite way some of the chassis was built er... the way it is!
Anyway, have a few pics
-
To make it rust Koen Ok, here's a clue for you
You see the rectangle?
At some angles the rust really comes alive and changes colour to something much more vivid
The rust cleaning continues on parts that are not the hood Some bits were put through the blast cabinet.
Other parts such as the fender pan were cleaned the old fashioned way with a wire cup brush on a grinder.
Quite a few hidden cracks to be welded up!
And that's as far as I got yesterday as Garry turned up on something different that needed a bit of looking at... See my post in the off topic section that will be appearing shortly

That's good news Norm, what did you do to the carb to make it usable?
-
If the main mixture screw is broken then that's where I would start with your running problem Norm.. The question is has it been broken by getting knocked or has it seized and someone has snapped it while trying to get it out!!
I don't know if your 8hp engine uses the same mixture screw as a 10hp, if it does I'm sure I've got a spare your welcome to.

HI James, I'm using this stuff.. Not even going to try and pronounce the name Garry bought it years ago for topping up bike battery's and it's been sitting on a shelf in the shack ever since!
After yesterdays mouse hunting I was greeted by the build bench looking like this when I went to the shack this morning!
A little while later the bench was a lot tidier and I could actually see what I was going to work on
Well, not all the parts as some are stashed under the bench.
As I was stripping the last remaining parts off the hood stand I noticed more rust that needs a bit of work.. The hood stand is now stewing in the E tank.
I did make a start on cleaning up the chassis, but I didn't get that much cleaned up as the shack was filling up with rust dust and it was raining so I couldn't do this part outside!
A much dryer and warmer day is forecast for tomorrow, so fingers crossed for some rust stripping action in the sun
And for your viewing delight, here's part 1 of Project Zero-ish turn.
-
Plenty of time for the weekend forecast to change yet
-
You managed to talk Nigel out of his Merlin!!! You must of talked a lot Ben
Next time your over Hawkhurst way your more than welcome to drop in.
-
Some nice fabrication work going on there James, looking forward to the digging the dirt video from Newby
-
I did Mark, thought it was the safe thing to do
-
I did, but it turned into a bit of a strange day
-
That's a nice collection Paul. It looks like your holding a show in your garden
-
Accidental damage is all part of the game unfortunately Norm, I managed to drop a starter motor on the hood of my 6x6!!
-
As always your attention to detail amazes me Richard
-
The plan for today was to get as much of the paint and rust stripped off of Project ZIT, but instead I spent most of the day mouse hunting, trying to keep very young (just worked out how to fly sort of young) black caps out of the shack, and chopping a phone in half!
So have a photo of the side of the hood starting to rust.. The acid did the trick
However plans for the finish have changed a little today including some buying of paint.. So watch this space
-
Have you got space for a hitch with trans still attached for delivery to Newby?
-
A new one on me too... Good to see something different. Thanks for posting it Chris
-
