Was thinking the same Richard, I think it's not entirely original.... Rear fender, deck lift lever and guards are later c series. Hood and one front wheel look like early c series.
Mountfield serial no. Dates it around 1978
I think it's like a lot a horses that have worked, a hybrid of parts that keep them running
your right Mark, the id plate has model 1-12k8-01 serial 162357 but engine id is k301as spec 47648d serial 9069962 and the mountfield no 9049. on my list it comes up as a C125 ?
Can't help wondering that as it was April 1st when you posted this, that you were trying to catch us out .
Or I'm looking too close for discrepancies. The front left hand (flywheel side) wheel had morphed into a pre '76' version between the pics of it in the Van and on the ground .
your right Richard, the front tyre was flat and wont hold air for long, I had to change it to get it out of the van as the mower deck snags on the ramps, that's the first spare I found
had another look at the C120 today, i have a customer's raider 12 that needs an engine so this one might be put on a back burner until another powerplant come's along
Its a 1980 C120, been standing for a while, has a handy attachment bracket on the rear axle and a 42 inch deck which has the tin worm, there was a trailer frame that ended up in the van and a bag of spare belts and blades and a new exhaust.
After having a sort out and finding 14 tractors, I thought I would downsize my collection. Had a phone call yesterday offering me another wheelhorse and I thought might as well have 15, just one more wont make any differance
Had a really nice day in the sunshine, bit of an early start to arrive at 8.45 but traffic light so didn't take long.
The Shak'in horse was still in the van from yesterday, so just filled the space with some stuff to sell. we arrived and unloaded the van then it was time for one of their fried breakfast's.
there were a lot of people looking round and with a few cups of tea and chats with some friends the day was over. I managed to sell some bits so the van was lighter coming home and had a pocket full of cash, even refrained from buying anything to.
thanks for the photos paul, we had a great day in the sunshine and a huge fried breakfast , the shak'in horse started first swing and ran all day on last years petrol. took my camera and after a couple of shots the battery went flat the martin truck next to me was a 1969
While the vans all loaded i'am going to Hassocks Garden Centre with Shak'in Horse, to a bring and buy sale. its a stationary engine display and sale so iam taken some stuff to sell, hopefully to sell more than I buy.
All loaded up with Shak'in Horse for a trip to Hailsham garden centre tomorrow (15 march) . its a stationary engine display but will have the Wheelhorse running all day and blow the winter dust off.
when I had finished this part I made up a rear lift and had it hooked up to the skip ram, but it didn't work to well so moved the ram to the front and fitted the dozer blade.
the next work to do will be new rear roller bearings, a nice shinny paint job, new rubber tracks and maybe swap the kobota engine for a kohler. I don't know when this will be as each time I get it out I just want to drive it
Oh No, not another Wheelhorse

looks like a right mixture, perhaps I've owned it before
