  1. Hi Koen. the engine is a early 40's Bradford 4 HP hit & miss horizontal stationery engine water cooled. Its a spare for Shak'in Horse
  2. had another hour out in the heat today and got most of the engine together and bolted in
  3. Thats the trouble neil, when you get old you forget where you put things, i must start writing things down, no wonder pam gets the hump every time i go out in the van
  4. I had a wood store down the drive and as the wood pile went down i use to put the overflow in it, so i thought i would throw the sheet up and make sum room and bugger me there's another one hiding
  5. Had a look at my orse's today as iam running out of room and 2 ov em are grazing on the patio Walked in the shed and there's another one.

  7. Its lucky that most of the parts are interchangeable then mark

The next job was to cut the spare box section off the front and tidy it up, fit some bonnet hinges, fit a battery under the seat (to work the headlights) and cut some slots in the floor for the two slew levers. for the clutch i used the deck handle with a rod to the belt tenioner. the throttle and choke cables are halfords bike cables and solderless nipples, and rear fender from a 60s lawn ranger

Now i had the gearstick in the right place, after turning the axle i had to modify the engine frame and turn the engine all the rest of the controls were cable operated so made it easy to change. photos are --- engine fitted bodywork from A90 offered up and with bonnet fitted. to fit all the bodywork i only had to weld some angle along the frame as it was the same width.

  12. Just the engine to put back together now and sort out the electrics, there is a deck for it but that's in bits aswell. I checked out the numbers today (1-0391 ) listed as a 1975 C100 but badged up as a Raider 10, i.ve had a few like that, strange,

  14. had some time spare today and it being so nice I had a bit of Horse-play. got most of the tractor together now, I forgot how many parts there are. the chap I got it from really stripped it even took the valves out of the tyres. I had some track-rods in stock so fitted them and will keep the stainless ones for a project. here's a couple of todays progress.

  17. The next day i spent a while working out how i could operate the gearstick from the front. looking at the gearbox / front axle i noticed that it was held on with u bolts, simple all i had to do was turn the engine and transmission around the other way, so the next 4 photos so the progress

  19. had a couple of hours this morning so started to unload the van and sort out the parts. nice surprize to find it had new stainless track-rods and rose joints.
  20. once the skip was of i just had to have another drive round before i backed it up the drive, the first photo shows where i think the seat will fit, the next shows my daughter trying out leg room, next engine cover off and the last shows the gearstick sticking out the front. all this was done on the same day august 8th 2009
  21. Well done c101. After spending hours on flebay and lots of research i found this down in kent. called the seller up and went for a look. Its a Kubota tracked dumper, petrol pull-start engine with 3 forward gears and 2 reverse , had a drive round his yard and had a deal.
