As many of you know by now a few of us southern Boys and Girls are going up north to Newby Hall Tractorfest.
This was decided at our Christmas dinner in December and seemed a good idea at the time as there was 6 months to get ready.
Since December my wife has been quite poorly and my van needed replacing, After spending months on the internet and hundreds of miles viewing junk I found what I was looking for, after mopping and waxing the bodywork I found that it needed new brakes all round and steering drumsticks and tyres, with all that done all I had to do is fit the winch.
I have to say that at one point I was going to cancel the trip but with help from close friends I kept going.
As there is now only 3 days before we leave, I thought I had better start getting some Exhibits together today and this is as far as I got today.
Photo 1 is first thing this morning.
Photo 2 the same.
Photo 3 everything moved to get at the back of the shed, and the Rowcrop uncovered after winter storage
-
yes it was Paul, thanks for that, nice to have breakfast in Bournemouth with Andrew and David, picked the engine up on the way back
-
Oh no, the cats out the bag, I was trying to keep it under wraps Norm
-
-
Havnt had a chance to look at it yet, I knew it had no spark but it turns over ok and has plenty of compression, what ever is in the fuel tank smells funny so I guess its been standing for a while
-
Just bring it, you know you want to, there be plenty of us to tow it around, I could even bring my tow crane
-
-
This ones sold now James, sorry mate
-
I'am bringing the "Trachorse" the "Rowcrop" and another "Round-nose" (depends which start) and another Wheelhorse "Giftwrapped" .
and some boxes of parts
Forgot to add "Wheelhorse Dump-cart" if I can get it in, and maybe the plough
-
A fellow member gave me the nod on this little engine on the bay, nobody bid on it and I won it for the starting price (£31).
As a few of my Wheelhorse's have this engine, I thought it would be a handy spare
-

-
My visa and travel permit's arrived today, just got to have my injections on Monday and iam ready for the trip "Up North"

-
Happy birthday to a good friend, wish you all the best mate
-
Well done Ian, works well and good audio, look forward to the next installment
-
The HT lead looks a bit long Norm, might make the motor run a bit retarded, do you want me to bring you a shorter one to Newby ?
-
Yeh, don't forget the battery Norm. you don't want to push it to Newby, at least its down hill from up there
