Triumph66 1,256 #27 Posted February 28, 2015 George, That look good to me. Will it fit happily on your Gutbrods or will you have to modify it?
The Fife Plooman 632 #28 Posted March 8, 2015 Hi All A very strawy ploughing match Called the Highlands of Fife,Started in the bygone days in the times of the horse stopped in 1939 restarted in 2009 as has gone from strength to strength .Match was held Saturday 7 Th March eighty tractors took part three pair of horses and for the first time in history three horticultural tractors took part.Very strawy but we were all the same ,it just made it a little bit harder Judging time again have fun Judge now It has taken three years to get a place in this event, the people were very impressed with the tractors and the ploughs in fact I was asked to plough a couple of gardens 4 Ian, Triumph66, OldBuzzard and 1 other reacted to this
Triumph66 1,256 #29 Posted March 8, 2015 George, to my untutored eye, all the ploughing look damn good. You lads with your horticultural tractors are setting the standards on ploughing.
Stormin 4,458 #30 Posted March 8, 2015 First photo a lot of straw showing and some not very straight furrows. Second one rather flat. So it's the third photo for me.

Stormin 4,458 #35 Posted March 17, 2015 Those are well turned furrows, George. Apart from the start very little grass showing.
OldBuzzard 186 #36 Posted March 17, 2015 It looks like that ground is awfully damp to be plowing. Is that normal over there?
The Fife Plooman 632 #37 Posted March 17, 2015 Hi old Buzzard The ground should have been ploughed in October to give the frost a chance to break up the clods but as the people did not buy the place until this year it means the ground is a bit wetter but makes for a good trial, Thanks George S 1 Triumph66 reacted to this
Stormin 4,458 #38 Posted March 17, 2015 It looks like that ground is awfully damp to be plowing. Is that normal over there? Where I am, on the Solway Plain, the ground is always damp. Unless it's water logged.

Triumph66 1,256 #40 Posted March 18, 2015 George, That's a heavy duty Rotovator you got there. Is that a Gutbrod make? The soil look to be in good heart too. Cheers Andrew
GAV694 23 #41 Posted March 19, 2015 Looks good George, nice tidy job. Also good that the Gutbrod rotovator isn't pulling the grass back to the top, time to get mine sorted and put it to use
The Fife Plooman 632 #42 Posted March 19, 2015 Hi Andrew. it is a Gutbrod rotovator if you were to use it all the time it would be of benefit to have a set of reduction hubs this cuts the forward speed by half George S 1 Triumph66 reacted to this
